INTRODUCTION
Communication is not always referred to as “transferring of the message” or “the
message” itself. It is regarded as the exchange of common agreement, in relation to the receiver.
In businesses, communication needs to be effective and understandable; as it is the source for
management to carry its practices. A well-organized function of management cannot be
performed effectively without proper communication. Business communication allows or
involves frequent flow information in the organization. It helps in providing feedback for
improvement in the business activities. It assures immediate reaction to the misunderstandings
occurring in the business. It is required to have effective communication between the superiors
and the subordinates in the organization, as it is important for the development and success of the
organization. The business communication is focused on achieving its goals and objectives and
its rules and regulation, practices and policies must be communicated with the people in the
organization and outside as well. Business communication is of two types: oral and written,
where oral can be formal or informal. The purpose of this research is to identify my learning
about the importance of communication in business. It reflects that I have learned from the
business activities and its importance in my learning procedures.
In the following research I have understood that it is necessary to adopts a different
learning styles; and while communicating it is necessary that other person understands the
purpose of the message and the communication between them. No person has a specific learning
style and it can be changed as per the requirement. Many organizations in the business makes an
important note to assure that employees are able to understand the requirement and also conduct
various types of training for my learning. It is also necessary for me to recognise the learning
style(Moshiri and Cardon, 2014). By understanding the and recognising the learning styles it is
easy to implement the techniques that are easier or suits best and it helps in enhancing and
improving the speed and quality of the learning. There are some learning styles that are
possessed by an me such as:
Visual- In this learning style I understood that adopting this style helped me to recognise
things by using pictures, images and spatial understanding. I was able to understand
easily by recognising the requirement by visualising things.

Aural- This style helped me to understand by using sound or by hearing things, I was
comfortable to understand and learn by hearing audibly.
Verbal- In this style it is easier for me to learn by making notes or by oral presentation of
the messages. The communication is oral or written and I am able to understand and
learn(Brink and Costigan, 2015).
Physical- From this learning in I understood and learned by using a sense of touch, in this
learning style the physical activity makes it easier to understand and learns easily through
the activities.
Logical- The learner questions in this learning and tends to learn till the time and is not
able to understand the logic behind it. Using logics behind it and the requirement of the
learning.
Social- The learner learns easily in groups and while communicating with others and
understanding the requirement and the need to be fulfilled. They socialise in this type of
learning so that they can easily connect in the business world(Jackson, 2014).
Solitary- This learning style is adopted at times where I was able to learn alone and by
increase own skills and ability without prior training and other sources.
Factors that influence communication and learning:
Cultural diversity- There is chance of misunderstanding and representation of messages
in wrong direction when people from different cultural background communicate. Large
corporations have different cultural and contrary workforce.
Misunderstanding of messages- When people fail to understand the message or
implement different meanings to the similar words. These are the mistakes that emerges
when technical words are used.
Emotional difference- Emotions and feelings of the people at the time of communicating
message always affect its meaning of messages(Bargiela-Chiappini and Nickerson,
2014).
Past Experience- The communication and conveying of messages in the past usually
affects the further relations between the sender and the receiver.
Educational and intellectual difference- The difference in educational qualification also
affects the effectiveness of the communication in the business as they are not able to hold
similar understanding and feelings.

Theories of communication that I have taken into consideration
Theories of communication is referred to the way so that I can easily learn or
communicate such as:
Critical Theory- This theory states that conflicts are the signs in the organizational
activities and tends to happen frequently. In business groups employees keep a distance
from managers and departments have their part in competing for budgets.
Communication gap makes it difficult in the organization for the upper and lower
management to have good practices together and lack of motivation arises.
Communication has its role in this theory to manage the workforce and resolve the issues
and problems in the organization.
Information Theory- This is the flow of information with the fewer mistakes, viewing the
messages before sending helps in fixing them so that messages can be effectively
consumed and understood. It requires effective measures to communicate messages
accurately.
Post-positive Theory- If assuming that order is the requirement of nay organization then
the post-positioning theory is being utilised. Assuming orders are natural in the company
then it helps in resolving conflicts, misunderstandings. This theory confirms and mainly
focus on people to obey messages by the rules and work in the organization effectively.
Having contact with the subordinates and the workers helps in settling conflicts and
makes it possible to have smooth organizational activities(Dascalu, Bodea and de Pablos,
2015).
Groupware Theory- This theory assumes that the communication lines and the strategies
must be changed with the advancement in the technology. This makes it easier for the
employees in the organization to convey the messages quickly with the help of
technology and to the most number of employees at the same time. For example,
management wants to convey some important rules or change in the organizational
practice they can easily notify it with all the employees in the organization at the same
time effectively(Grunig, 2013).

need to do for the improvement of the business and for what purpose they have to
accomplish it and that ensures in increasing productivity.
Allows utilising globalization for advantage- Effective communication is also necessary
because today's workforce is getting globalised and that is challenging for the
management. They need to work with the diverse group of people around the globe and
this can be not so good for the management if they do not communicate effectively. By
