INTRODUCTION
Communication refers to exchange of information from one individual to another through
speaking, writing so that idea is communicate and task is performed in effective manner. For
business, communication is crucial process as it helps in clearly roles and responsibilities that
will be performed by specific individuals in the firm. The report has contain key information
pertaining to reflection on one of my experience in which I have learn communication skills, its
important and many more information pertaining to the same. The report is important because it
helps me in understanding things that I have learn through presentation that can be beneficial for
my future professional career.
Effective business communication in the workplace
Effective business communication can be defined as share of idea, view and points by
each and every member transparently so that there are no chances of conflict or confusion in
future circumstances. I have also learnt that effective business communication is where all
individuals are given each chance to share their view and they are effectively listening (Osborne,
and Hammoud, 2017). Open, clear and consistence information transfer between individuals
regarding the specific roles, responsibilities that they each need to perform contribute in
coordinating them to work as team for achievement of end goals.
The way I will improve my business communication skills
In order to improve my business communication skill there are numerous things that I
have plan to learn such as building effective listening skills, learning the manner in which
information need to be communicate. I will make use of internet to learn the way communication
skills can be improved, try to talk with more and more individuals and take their feedback
whether they have understand (Friginal and Leymarie, 2020). Furthermore I have decided to
work on my business communication skills through learning from my superior the way they
share information and many more.
Elements of business communication important for me
There are several essential elements of successful business communication within
workplace such as definite structure or the way it needs to be communicated to other. It should
be clear and consistence so that an individual is aware about the necessary information.
Moreover, the sender should selected appropriate medium to communicate information; along
with it information should be relevant. The message sent need to be to the points so that receiver

does not get confused and easily grape the information (Quintanilla and Wahl, 2018). Therefore,
all these elements of business communication help me understanding the way information need
to be share in firm for better outcome.
Gibbs reflective model
It is model that helps in reflecting things that an individual’s learn from previous
experience and also help in finding key areas that need to be improved for fruitful results.
Description: It can be describe that we have given a project of power point presentation in which
we have to gathered information pertaining process of communication, challenge, channel and
solution that could be used to promote effective communication within organisation.
Feelings: In the initial stage of the project I was quiet nervous and confused regarding the way it
need to made and how will I present crucial information pertaining to communication at
workplaces. But as i proceed further I gain confidence and feel happy that the presentation has
helped me in learning lot of information related to communication.
Evaluation: The good about the experience that through by hard efforts and dedication I am able
to gathered information pertaining to effectiveness of communication at work places that make
me happy and satisfied. But due to lack of presentation skill, I face challenge in making the
presentation but i have tried my best to make it good.
Analysis: The sense that can be made from the above analysis is that I get to know about
importance of communication, its impact on business and what are the challenges that are
business facing in recent scenario (Friginal and Leymarie, 2020). The presentation has also
helped me in learning the channel can be used and the way challenges can be eradicated for
smooth flow of information.
Conclusion: From the above reflection it can be summarised that I lack presentation and
organise skills which need to be improved so that I can achieve higher growth in future scenario.
So I have decided to work on my communication and presentation skill for growth and success in
professional career.

sender to other likewise the top management inform about rules and procedure that need to be
followed by individuals while completing their respective task.
Encoding: It is the process in which language is encoded into symbols such as words, action and
gestures so that it can be send to receiver.
Message: It is the information that is sends to receiver such as vision, the change that company
wants to bring and many more information are transferred in the company in daily routine.
Channel: Email and meeting are some of the channel that are used by company to communicate
with wide range of employees that are working in firm.
Receiver: It is the individuals that receive information that has been sent by senders (Quintanilla
and Wahl, 2018).
Decoding: It is process in which meaning of the message is extracted for better understanding so
that task can be completed in effective manner.

Distraction or noise: Another challenge is distraction or noise when information is
communicate other lead in miscommunication thus task are not completed as they need to be for
company benefits.

business individual must have good non verbal communication skills. In another words, it can
