INTRODUCTION
Information and communications technology is an extensional term for information
technology that stresses the role of unified communications and the integration of
telecommunications and computers, as well as necessary enterprise software, middleware,
storage and audiovisual, that enable users to access, store, transmit, and manipulate information.
This report contains information such as features, advantages disadvantages, applications and
sustainability of online technologies and cloud storage and computing. Other than that it also
puts a focus on Challenges and measures of security and privacy that business and users would
take when they go online for variety of services (Minasyan and Midova, 2017).

Microsoft Teams-
Features and advantages-
Fully integrated with office 365-
All of the Microsoft apps are integrated with office 365. It is considered to be very
flexible for those businesses who is using Microsoft for their whole operations. For instance
many of the companies work with their other apps too such as Microsoft word, Outlook, Excel
etc (Mautner and Rainer, 2017).
Conversation Channels-
The whole point of this channel was to improve the ways to communicate with each other
because at the time of pandemic that is how people operated with each other. This helped them to
reduce the barriers at that time and provided them the option to work faster as people could find
anything on it by topic which saved them from getting distraction. With Teams people could see
their channels that were general but also those who were additional. This way they can tag @all
to everyone so that they can see that message or share anything with them.
Reduced Email-
This will help employees to keep their inbox short as they won’t have to wait for inbox
replies as their will be no long queues that will be waiting for their replies. Teams have one

feature which allows them to send email on their team channel which makes its content appear
on the conversation for all team members.
Collaborate live in real time-
Real time presence changes will come to benefit to those who have been facing difficulty
with slowness of presence updates in this software. This gives option to members of team to chat
and work together. This way they do not have to wait on updates in email.
Disadvantages-
Difficult transition from Outlook-
It is suggested that in order to get full and optimal use of teams one must stop using
Outlook. But all the platforms of Microsoft are connected or linked on Office 365 which is why
it becomes a challenge to leave it out.
Limited flexibility can lead to manual replications-
In the initial stage of joining onto Teams structure is not ready from start which requires
setting up of channels that need to be created. In order to work with this in a perfect manner they
need to work with patience as these things gets fixed with time. Employees have to waste some
time as channels cannot be moves between Teams which leads to wastage.
Applications-
It provides the option of conducting meeting and calling others. They can easily attend
conference calls and share their screen by setting up a custom background.
They can collaborate on chat and share the message instantly so that they can share it easily.
Sustainability-
Through Teams billions of people are getting connected each other everyday which has
helped them to reduce travel which has ultimately decreased the level of carbons in the
atmosphere.

There are many benefits of using Microsoft 365 as they deliver more productive apps through
which they can improve resource and become more energy efficient (Nabi, Foysol and Adnan,
2017).
WebEx-
Features and advantages-
Integrated Communication-
It makes it easy for them to join and conduct sessions of conference calls on video
without enhancing the capabilities. This way they get the benefit on software to use participants
the ability to request callbacks. People who are host of the meeting has full control over the
channel.
Sharing desktop and documents-
One of the features of Cisco WebEx is that people in a meeting can share their screen.
Other than that they can create virtual whiteboard so that they can set tools for annotation that is
so that they can brainstorm on some ideas together. The main goal of this platform is to keep
offering solutions to business owners so that they can work constantly at any location, device or
time.
Disadvantages-
Design of WebEx is believed to be atrocious and their legacy leaves behind the interface that is
separate. This creates confusion in the use of software.
Many of the users has felt that this software has lagged at many stages which creates
inconvenience in work.
Applications-
Applications of WebEx are similar to the applications of Teams.
Sustainability-

It will sustain the forces of market and environment because it has helped them to work
remotely and it has happened because they have collaborated with technology which will
increase their productivity (Schartel Dunn and Lane, 2019).

cyber attacks.
Enhanced safety and security features-
Devices offered by brand of cloud storage come with features that complete the
protection requirements against data. They just need a internet connection so that they can keep
the data as backup.

Many of the sellers that deals in selling of these devices and in order to live up to their
reputation they offer them with technical support. This way anytime employees in the company
face any difficulty they can directly go to them with their query and get it resolved instantly. His
saves them from incurring more additional costs.
Benefits to startups-
There are many areas in which small business and large businesses can gain benefit from
it when they have to work with devices that are of cloud storage. They will have the benefit of
getting features on mobile compatibility where they can have access to their servers from their
own mobiles which will increase the convenience as they can share anything at anytime they
want.

There have been cases where cyber attacks had lost the data and because of that they had
to take control on measures. Still they can continue the operations because owners of the
company can retrieve the data from remote servers and continue their operations without any

Cybercrimes and threats related with malwares are increasing day by day which is
increasing the chances for companies that they can lose their data which is important to them. it
is important that management or IT team of the company mist assess the features before buying
it.

Cloud based storage devices have not been proven successful for services in the line of
financial sector or healthcare sector. Companies that trades publically will benefit only from
advanced cloud support.

losses on a large level and it was between the process of passing the energy across long
distances. Data centers that are traditional don’t have much choice because only rich companies
such as Facebook or Yahoo can do that. These are designed in such a way which helps to use
energy in the most efficient manner.
High utilization rate-
Many of the businesses use their own private centers which states that they have low rate
of utilization. This is because they purchase their own equipments and set them up in demand of
spikes being used. In order to get more efficiency from these measures they need to utilize the
servers at high rates. If the hardware that is set for the operations sits idle then it will create
negative effects on the environment. But public cloud servers tends to be more than 2 or 4 times
efficient as the infrastructure that is formed for it is highly utilized.

It is necessary that company provides training to their employees on this issue because in
many cases these incidents have been successful because of lack of awareness to employees.
This is because they are now aware of the mediums that are used by hackers which lead to
breach in security. Nowadays they are getting threats because of social engineering as a link is
posted by hackers which are a trusted source for holding the data in confidence. When they open
the link they let the virus enter to it (Heo and Lee, 2018).
Sensitive Data-
When they are deleting the data that is sensitive it is important to complete it in a
cautious manner. As there are some ground marks for that with information that is confidential.
Employees have to eliminate all of the information that is supposed to be in confidence from all
the devices such as tablets, storage, hardware, computers and smart phones before they have to
dispose of their devices.
Strong passwords-
In order to keep up with the measures of security they need to set up a strong password so
that hackers don’t have access to data that have potential to ruin the business. It is important that
their passwords must have different set of varieties and it must be changed every quarter.
Authorized employees-
It is important that company must have particular and different account for every
employee. This will help them to restrict the access to business computer. It is important for
them to set the limit and access to the computers at any location (Dwyer and Hopwood 2019).
Security on mobile devices-
In order to reduce vulnerability of security it is important that management do not allow
their employees to use their own device at work or after work as it puts more risk to business

company keeps preparation with high security grounds and remain alarmed.

is stored on any platform that is device or cloud. When the company wants encrypted
information they will have to call that person who has the proper key for it because then only it
can be decoded. Small business must go for systems having built in encryption option so that
they can keep the security of data.

Many of the businesses depend on third party sites or vendors in order to process their
credit cards, payrolls etc. it is important to supervise them with functions related to security. In
this measure there is high amount of risk involved as if they breach the data that was meant to be
secured then their confidential information will have gained some experience (Bannier, Pauls
and Walter, 2019).

From the above studies it has been assessed that companies need to work on the measures
that help them to improve their security such as spreading and making the employees understand
the importance of leaking of data and making amends to spread awareness in their mind so that
they can understand the pattern of hackers. It was beneficial to every organizations the use of
Teams, WebEx, Cloud computing etc. as at the time of pandemic they were not allowed to leave
anywhere and the only way to conduct business was with these aspects. Other than that there

were many other features which made their work easy, convenient and operable. By using these
advanced and new features companies have been able to reduce the spread of carbon emissions
and make more use of sources through which they can gain energy efficient resources.
