Business communication plays an important role for delivering the organizational objectives to
all the employees at workplace, without communication it is unable to deliver what all tasks and
objectives one has to do in order to achieve the set of targeted objective. One must effectively
communicate the context of the messages so that the receiver of the message rightly analyses the
intent of the message and manages the work. in the context of Business United which is a private
college in London, UK. Due to COVID-19, all the classes are going online. This report covers
different theories of communication, barriers of communication and supported recommendations
in order to improve the communication (Cenere and et.al.,2015).
MAIN BODY
Determine the theories of the business communication
Communication is anything that involves delivering the message from one individual to
another in order deliver the communication message. In order to promote effective
communication, it’s important to keep in mind some element which are covered in the 7 C’s of
communication theory. How they are important and how these helps to promote effective
communication, these are discussed below in brief:
1. Clear
One must the clear while delivering the message to the individual, these involves that the
individual must be sure of the purpose of the communication, the objective of the
communication and the person to whom the message should be delivered to.
2. Concise
Concise here means that the deliverer of the message must stock to the real objective of
the message. He/ She must ensure to be concise of not repeating any words many time,
reduce the use of unnecessary words (Darics, ed., 2015).
3. Concrete
Concrete here means that the message should be solid, which determine that message
delivered should ensures that the receiver have the clear picture pertaining to the
message.
4. Correct

communication for delivering the lectures via online platforms. These are discussed below in

Technical barriers: This is the important common communication barrier which causes with
poor Wi-Fi which disrupts the quality of video and audio in the online classes, which further
breaks down the flow of information. Other technical barriers may include software issues and
other technical issues. As the online lectures are delivered via electronic platforms thus having
which is error free. The sender should ensure that the receiver is well acknowledged by

uncomfortable to sit for long focusing on their laptop screens. Other physical barrier may involve
that some students might not have physical resources like damaged laptop which will make them
use mobile phones further it loses the efficiency of the student to attend the long lectures in the
online lectures (Pérez and et.al.,2019).
Noise barriers: Noise barriers includes the continuous disturbance of sounds from the
background in the online classes. When students and teacher take online classes when are sitting
at home where they are other people as well, thus background noise and disturbance leads to
inefficiency while delivering lectures.
Cultural barriers: Cultural barriers includes languages barrier wherein students are unable to
express themselves due to language barriers. In the Business United, wherein students and
teacher belong to different culture that brings the difference in the way they speak, gestures, tool
while communication and others which further makes students and teacher unable to match up
the expectance and further deliver effective communication via online lectures. Thus, cultural
barriers lead to the barrier of effective communication.

Acknowledge emotional response: Teacher in Business United college, acknowledges the
emotional responses of the students, teachers should make the online lectures more lively by
adding fun games and making it tow way communication taking quizzes and games related to the
subjects which helps the students to feel more driven and reduces the monotony of sitting in the
live lectures for long, these also helps the students to feel emotional happy and motivated to
initiative to take part in the online lectures.
Checking if students have understood correctly: Feedbacks is the important sources that helps
to analyze that if in case the students have understood the real motive of the lectures taught.
