Introduction
Effective business communication is important for each and every company. It refers sharing
information and knowledge within two or group of people. It helps each and every company to
build a good relationship between employee and staff and which is needed for achieving
company’s targeted objectives and goals (Krizan, 2011). This report contain a study of what I
have learned from the module and the presentation about effective business communication.
Then I will be show some successful elements of presentation and I will discuss the reason
behind their success. And at last I will be show some methods for improving my presentation
and I also shows some activities that have been taken for achieving those improvement.
What I have learned about effective business communication from the
module and presentation
I have learned lot of thing about good effective business communication from the module and
from the presentation. Here I discuss the all thing that I have learned
Communication is not just exchange of words and sounds it means exchange or share
information and knowledge among the people. Communication play vital role for company
because it helps them to take accurate decision on every situation (Overton, 2008). Effective
business communication helps to increases the loyalty between employees and staff which has a
positive impact on business growth. It increase both employees and owner satisfaction because
after successful communication process they both can understand each other demands and
demand so they work regarding following those needs and demands. Effective business
communication increases work efficiency and overall quality of work and when work quality
increase then it will positively impact companies or business growth (Vuuren, 2007). If two
people in a one workplace use different communication method for communicating with each
other then they can be misunderstand each other, and when they will start misunderstanding each
other they can’t work together which will be negatively effect on business growth, but if they go
through effective communication process then there have lot of chance that they will be never
misunderstand each other cause on this process they have to use same communication methods.
Effective communication process can increase employee engagement and resolve the business
problems easily and this all can make a huge effect on business growth. Through this process
company can operate and monitor their employee’s and when company did this they will be get a

better result from their employee and this will be positively effect on company’s productivity and
growth. When employee are able to communicate with each other then they can easily share their
problems with others and there have a lot of possibilities that they will be get a immediate
solution of their problems. This all thing I learn from the effective communication module. Now
I am going to discuss about something which I have learned from my presentation (Singh, 2003).
At first I learn some knowledge about communication and business communication, then I learn
three communication theories which is helpful for achieving company’s objectives and goals. In
each and every communication there have some barriers which need to be remove but to remove
this we need some communication skill such as confidence, listening and friendliness using those
skill we can produce some solution of communication barriers, and this solution will be remove
the barriers of communication.
That all I have learned from the communication module and from the presentation about good
business communication.
Successful elements of my presentation and reason behind their
success
There have a lot of elements of my presentation where not of all are successful. In here I am
going to discuss about successful elements of my presentation and I will also show the reason
behind their success.
Importance of business communication. Communication skill, communication process and
solution of communication barriers all of this are the successful elements of my presentation. On
importance of effective communication I show some essential point of business communication
where one of them are “Without effective communication no company can never achieve their
targeted goals and objectives” from this point we can understand that effective communication is
important for each and every company (Sligo, 2000). Main thing is that I show here all of the
important point of business communication which through people can understand the importance
of effective business communication, and that’s why this is the successful elements of my
presentation. Then the second point is communication skill this is also a successful elements of
my presentation because we know that there have some barriers on communication process and
if we want to remove this barriers then we will be needed this and it also help us to communicate
with different people in a different situation. Other successful elements is communication

The last successful elements of my presentation is solution of communication behaviours, we
know that there have a some barriers on communication process and if we want to remove those
barriers then we need some solution and on this elements I describe some solutions of
communication barriers that’s why it is also a successful elements of my presentation.
Way of improving my presentation and some activities for achieving
this improvement
Improving presentation is important because after improving this it will be more reliable and
more relevant (Goliath, (2009). Here I am going to show some way that I will be use to improve
my presentation
Using data and information from primary sources rather than secondary sources is important
because those data and information are collected by primary sources are provide more relevant
and reliable data. On my presentation I use three theory but if I include more theory such as
cognitive dissonance, communication accommodation and coordinated management then my
presentation will be more relevant. Then I will develop my presentation from my personal or
practical experience such if I visit a any company for few days and work with them for my
academic purpose then I will be able to gain some practical experience which will be help me to
improve my presentation. Then I will be use all of information by research or researchable data
cause we know that researchable information give accurate information which will be help me
for improving my presentation (Chesterton, 1992). And at last if I include more communication
skill and provide more solution of communication barriers then it will be more improved.
Some activities that I will be do for gaining those improvement
1. I will be use data from primary sources rather than secondary sources
2. I will be gain some practical experience
3. Include data and information by conducting a research or those data that are proved by
research
4. I will be provide more solution for removing barriers of communication
I think after doing this all activities I will be able to gain the improvement.

Reflection
After conducting this report and the presentation I obtain lot of knowledge about communication
and business communication. Its help I to develop my writing and reading skill and also I got
some idea about customer owner relationship and employee staffs relationship. I think effective
business communication is the central point of any company because without this they will be
not able to build a good relationship between employee and staffs. In my presentation I discuss
about some shows some solution of communication barriers and now I can use those solution in
my practical life cause in our daily life we see lot of barriers on communication time but if we
use those solution point then we can easily remove those barriers. I acquire various kind of
communication skill from here and I also known some important theory of communication.
Conclusion
Effective business communication is important for each and every company, it helps them to
gain their objectives and goals (Rai, 2009). In this whole report I shows its importance how it
works on workplace and increase loyalty, fidelity among the employee. I have learned lot of
thing from business communication module and from my presentation. There have some
successful elements of my presentation which I indicate on this report and given some reason
behind their success. I also shows some way and points for improving my presentation and my
some activities that I will be do for achieving this improvement and at last I show its reflection
on me.

Communication that take place within or outside the organization for the purpose of sharing
information that incentivize the profit if a business and help create a good network of the
company is called business communication. It encompasses marketing, brand management,
public relation and customer relation. There are various levels of hierarchy in an organization.
Businesses also have to connect with the outside world of competitors and different ministries
and organizations. To be aligned with them business have to communicate with them.

THEORIES OF BUSINESS COMUNICATION:
There are a lot of theories that ore developed by the researchers for getting the communication
more effective. Among them I have selected the most severe ones. They are:
Symbolic Interaction Theory: we make different symbols to communicate that have
different interpretations. It is a micro level theory that focuses on how people interact with
each other. This is also called sign language. It is used for objects that don’t have their own
meaning and to and to enlivened the reciprocal meaning in our minds.
Dramatism theory: Dramatism theory is a tool to scrutinize the human relationship. There
are two core ideas in this theory. They are “ life is a drama” and “the ultimate motive id
purging of guilt”. There are some basics assumptions in this theory. One of them is agency
which refers to the choice of person (Cartwright 2002).
Expectancy Violations Theory: in our interaction and communication we all expect a
humble and generous behavior from our opponent. But sometimes some unusual and
unexpected behavior come up that ruins the whole vibrant communication. It focuses on how
an individual thinks about how he should act in a particular situation.

Communication has different in business. Effective communication can help the business expand
but on the other side of the coin bad communication can cause the company a reduction in their
profit. Such as:
Job Security: when an employee brings in new clients for the company , management
has an idea that this employee is working diligently and he is very good at his
communication. So for their own sake the employee gets a secured job.
Marketing, Advertising: Public Relations: when a communication is effective it works
in the said three ways. It does the marketing of the product. Tit advertises the company.
and with good communication a healthy public relation is built.
If the communication is not effective:
Stress in the Workplace: when an employee is stressed with his works it is researched
that most of the time the reason is their poor communication. They feel tensed and
overworked. They even feel guilty and depression which causes their familial collision
and so.

There are several crucial statement that researchers have found which causes a barrier in the way
to effective communication. They are:
USING “YOU” STATEMENTS INSTEAD OF “I” STATEMENTS: While we share
our feeling with each other we casually use the you word. Like you should do this, you
should not do this. but we do not think about what have we thyself have done.
whatever we are saying have we practiced on that before? we don’t do so because its
harder to say I did that, I should not have done that.
MISINTERPRETING THE MESSAGE: interpretation is very crucial in a
communication. we tell something by meaning something and other can
misunderstand the same thing. there should not be any misinterpretation in a
communication. to remove that each part of the communication has a clarification
(Johnson and Bayless 2005).
AVOIDING DIFFICULT CONVERSATIONS:WE always tend to avid the difficult
conversation. we think that what others will think if w make any mistakes. this is
because of or less confidence and shyness. avoiding the difficult conversation we
should come out of our comfort zone.

SENDER: The SENDER IS the generator of the message. He starts the communication
process. He is the source of information.
ENCODING: After the message is sent the message is encoded in binary codes in a
digital communication process.
MESSAGE: It is the information generated by the sender for the use of the receiver.
RECEIVER: Receiver is the person who receives the data from the sender to use in his
works.
DECODING: After the information reaches to the receiver the information is than
decoded and brought into its original form.
FEEDBACK: After getting the actual information the receiver gives a feed back to the
sender whether the data is useful or not.
NOISE: There are some obstacles in this process which cause problems such as bar
network.

Confidence: in a communication both the receiver and the sender have to be
confident abbot what they are sharing, and on themselves as well. If a sender is not
confident enough , he might make the whole communication poor (Krizan 2011).
Friendliness: the communication should be humble and in a friendly way. This works
like an ice breaking session and both of them can casually share the data.
Active listening: the receiver have to listen very carefully. If he missed any of the
part of a communication that may lead to misinterpretation of the message.

Avoid Slang: while communicating with others we should avoid slangs even if its with
our closes friend. Slangs create a bad thinking about the person that he is not from a
good background.
Remain Aware of Cultural Differences: There are many people work in an
organization. They can be of different cultures. We should never use anything in our
communication that is culturally biased. (Ober 2009).
Communicate Only What Is Needed: we only should communicate what is needed.
This concise the message and also reduces the probability of making mistakes.
