Explain approaches of management and strategy of business with evidence that business
operate in sustainable way
The sustainability is an approach where business use them to build strategies and
organisation operate in environment which include social, economic and ecological. With the
help of this they can effectively develop some strategies which help them to sustain in
business environment for long time period (Dwyer, and Hopwood, 2019). For sustain in
market they have to develop initiatives, programmes and other which help them to achieve
their objectives on time. In other words, it can be said that it is an approach where Tesco take

various initiative to run their business smoothly. Sustainability is develop on the assumption
it help organisation to build their image in society.
Corporate social responsibility is a broad concept that can take various forms based on the
industry and sector. Via CSR services, philanthropy, and volunteer activities, companies will
support society while boosting their brands.
To be socially responsible, a corporation must first be responsible to itself and to its owners.
Firms adopting CSR systems have also expanded their businesses to the extent that they can
return them to society. CSR is also mostly a big company approach. The most visible and
effective a company is, the more responsibility it has for its peers, the competition and
industry to set norms of ethical behaviour.
It is as essential to the society as CSR is to an enterprise. CSR practises will help build a
closer relationship between workers and companies. CSR affects firms, non-profit
organisations as well as workers. Instead it is something extra which corporations do to better
their local and global communities. Corporate social responsibility is not compulsory
practises in the US. Employees want to work with a business with a decent name and a
consistently optimistic presence in the media. Around 60% of workers who are proud of the
social obligations of their employer are employed.
CSR is a sensible and realistic way for civilization to be returned. When companies become
aware of their environmental and social effect on the planet they will support society by
providing solutions to daily problems and encouraging them to discover them. Companies
have a positive social impact for participating in CSR. Consumers are increasingly reporting
that they will partner with businesses or buy products from socially conscious companies.
Moreover, by being presented on donor identification walls or recognised in marketing
materials, you will increase brand consciousness.
Corporate social responsibility is increased because every organisation is taking
various measure to protect the environment as this also help them to increase their market
share and brand image (Song, and et. al., 2017). In context to selected organisation, there are
three approaches to business strategy and management such as social, economic and
ecological. With the reference to relevance organisation, the measure taken by them for
environment is that they have develop strategies so that they can reduce the carbon emissions.
As they have successfully decline 30 percent impact on carbon emissions which is done by
them on their supply chain management in the year 2020. The main aim of selected

organisation is to reduce the adversely impact of carbon and has set objectives to decline to
zero till the year 2050. With the help of this the relevant organisation, they believe that there
should be a policy that protect them from from harmful environment. If there is no policies
regarding environmental responsibility then it does not effectively operate their business.
They adversely affect the company, supplier, society and customers. They have set an aim to
maintain the business environment and trained their employees to take part in environmental
initiatives.
In context to Tesco, they have responsibility regarding whole society and they tell
their employees that it is not burden to implement the CSR nor they are giving their extra
services in society. In the year 2004, they found faulty for not complying rules and regulation
for environment, social and economic (Hildebrand, and et. al.,2020). After this they fave
make strategy for sustainable is that they focus on welfare of society and people. As Tesco is
following all legal laws which help them to run their business and develop strategies. In other
words, it can be said that by complying all legal laws they can perform their activities in an
ethical way. The main objective of respective organisation is that they have to increase the
satisfaction level of customers in market which can be done by developing CSR strategies.
They have to analyse the ethical principle and have to be followed by organisation in
every activities performed by them. In business sector, when they comply all rules which lead
to run their business in appropriate manner. Tesco follow ethics as they are exploring new
opportunities in market by selling diversified product which include books, furniture and
many other (Todjiboyevna, 2020). The main is that there is an ecological consumerism
which maintain their relation with government and NGO which help them to overcome the
issue of corporate social responsibility. In relation to consumer, they have to buy those
products which are not harmful for environment. So in this way they can easily protect the
environment in order to sustain in market for long time period.
To understand the strategies used by Tesco is that there is triple bottom line which
help organisation to focus on environmental and social (Benson, 2018). By analysing this
they can effectively perform their activities in ethical and sustainable way. The selected
organisation design, market and manufacture products and under balanced drilling system.
Their another main objective to hold market position that they have to operate in better place
to work in proper manner. The other responsibility is to pay fair wages to their employees so
that put efforts in order to enhance productivity and comply all legal rules and regulation
(Kanabar, and Sant, 2019).

Evidence and analyse different approaches to CSR of Micro, SME and corporate business
There are various approaches adopted by organisation of different types of business
which include micro, small and medium and corporate business. Different business adopt the
strategies according to their size of business which means large or multinational organisation
have to adopt and develop strategies various strategies because they are operating in different
countries (Breidbach, Machado, and Davim, 2019). This denote that there corporate social
responsibility is based on different factors which include social, environmental and
stakeholder approaches. The organisation follow all these factors which help them to protect
the environment which ultimately help business to sustain in market for long period of time.
In other words, it can be said that different organisation follow their own set of strategies
which depend upon their organisation and business environment (Cull, 2019). Organisation
develop strategies for corporate responsibility because they want to focus on different areas
which include welfare of employees, environment, corporate governance and financial
performance. There are four approaches of corporate social responsibility which are
obstructionist approach, defensive approach, accommodative approach and proactive
approach. Obstructive and defensive approach for low social responsibility whereas
accommodative and proactive approach is used for high social responsibility. Obstructive
approach is mainly used by micro enterprises which means that to get a way. In other words,
it can be said that they have block their social responsibility as there focus is to earn profit so
that they can achieve the business objectives (Mayfield, and Mayfield, 2017). They are
mainly known for their decive customers and exploit their staff members. For example micro
business such as manufacturer of fruit juices as they use industrial sugar and hide from
people. This negatively impact the social responsibility because it harm people after they
consume juice. In other words, it can be said that organisation use this sugar so that they can
attract people by making the juice tastier.
The second approach is defensive which means that it is mainly used by micro
enterprises to effectively protect their environment. But this is not much responsible, as they
focus on developing strategies but they do not develop effective policies. They also focus on
achieving business targets in order to earn and generate profit (Koval, Polyezhayev, and
Bezkhlibna, 2018). They follow all the legal rules and regulation which help them to develop
the strategies for corporate social responsibility. In this type of approach organisation only
contribute the fixed percent and do not contribute extra for social responsibility. The third
approach is accommodating and is adopted by corporate business. As it is very important for
them to adopt the corporate social responsibility which positively affect the business. In other
Document Page
words their main aim is to comply all legal rules and regulations so that they can effectively
achieve the business objectives. They do not hide any activities and only want to follow all
legal activities. The best example where they follow corporate social responsibility in an
effective and proper manner which are Google, Tesco and many others.
The accommodating approach is used by corporate business which means that there
main goal is to reduce the unnecessary waste which will help them to build corporate social
responsibility. They give their employees fair wages which will build their brand reputation
in market (Bali, and Bélanger, 2019). The last approach is proactive which means that they
are also used by both SME and corporate business which means that they only focus on
corporate social responsibility, business ethics and sustainability. In this approach corporate
business mainly focus on recycling programs, providing employees a fair wages and donate
their funds to charity and many other. The best example where this type of approach is used.
The Ronald McDonald house program is adopted by McDonald. They have taken this
measure to improve their brand images which means that these houses are located near to the
medical centres or hospitals. With this program they can reduce the cost of expenses on
treatment of sick children and their families (Lin-Hi, and Blumberg, 2018). By adopting this
CSR program they can effectively and efficiently achieve and build the reputation of the
selected organisation which is McDonald.
Nowadays, every organisation whether small or large develop strategies in order to
develop best strategies which help them to socially responsible. There are five strategies
promote healthy workplace culture which is the internal part of organisation (Blackwell,
2018). As they can effectively perform this by maintaining good environment, providing fair
wages and giving training and development sessions. This help them to maintain positive
work environment so that they can take feedback from employees and solve their issues. The
second strategy is that they have to design goals as this include market research, government
regulation and many other. They mainly focus on developing programmes for effective work
which include such as they can change their strategy for supply chain in order to reduce the
carbon emissions in society. This positively help them to sustain in market and hold market
position (Grubaugh, and Flynn, 2018). The third strategy is that they have to align
communities that impact the goals with corporate practices. This include mission, vision,
objectives and so on.
The fourth strategy is that they should be socially responsible as they can campaign
their products but should according to rule and laws. By complying all these strategies they
can effectively implement them in appropriate manner.

achieving the objectives of organisation. I have analyse that for social responsibility and
sustainability there are skills needed to develop CSR strategies which help me to operate
effectively. There are two important skills which should be properly analysed by me in order
to accomplish task. The two skills are problem solving skills and communication skills.
These two are discussed below:
Communication skill: By analysing the factors I understand that my communication
skills is strong. As this means that it is a skill which is used to share and receive different
information. This means that to develop new ideas, communicating about project and so on.
With the help of the discussion I understand that it is very important to communicate with
staff members and tell them regarding the corporate social responsibility and sustainability.
Which means that with communication them what are the legal rules and regulation about the
strategies develop in order to protect the environment from any hazardous activities. In this
way I can effectively improve my communication and tell them how to achieve the business
objectives in an effective manner. I learn that there are two types of communication which
are verbal and non verbal communication. By using the two communication I can effectively
implement the strategies of corporate social responsibility and suitability. Communication
skill can be improved by stating developing various strategies such as they have to engage

To improve the problem solving skills I can identify the complex situation where they have to
develop strategies and make plan that how they can overarm that problem. To overcome this
problem I have analysed that in organisation to operate smoothly I have to develop strategies
for business ethics as the problem can be solve by complying all legal rules and regulation. I

techniques, creativity, self management and creativity. To improve the problem solving skills
which include that in business sector, it can be improved by talking to other people which
will help me to solve the problem or can listen the issues of people. There are various
approaches which will help in order to develop strategies for corporate social responsibility
which are following the rule for CSR and business sustainability. The another is problem
solving skills which is very important because there are various issues occur when making
policies and strategies for corporate social responsibility and business ethics. So, business
have to solve the problems in order to comply all legal rules and regulation. With the help of
this they have to develop strategies so that they can effectively perform their duties. As there
are social impact which either positively impact or negatively impact the society as whole

With the help of this it help me understand how to solve the problems as it can be
done by developing various strategies and if any issue occurred it can be solved by them. In
this way first to solve problems I have to analyse and identify the skills needed by me to
solve the problem solving skills. There are various skills which improve problem solving
skills which include analytical skill, creativity, decision making, team building and so on. By
