PART B 1
GLOBALIZATION IMPACT ON BUSINESS COMMUNICATION
Introduction
The ability to communicate in the contemporary global environment has become very
challenging. Even though both the speaker and recipient share a similar tone, any
misunderstanding due to communication breakdown can create ethical and legal issues in
businesses (Matthews & Thakkar, 2012). It can also be noted that social networking has made
people more engaged and companies nowadays can easily promote or sell their products
through social media marketing. While communication flow has not been limited to national
boundaries, many companies face additional issues while operating in a globalized work
environment (Baruah, 2012).
Body
The process of networking and globalization are equally and tightly connected which
influences intercultural communication in a global firm. The new generations have further
made internet technologies complicated than ever before. This has created many people
working in diversified regions face additional issues even if they tend to communicate for
task fulfilment (Lebedko, 2014). Communication barriers in global firms generally arise due
to misunderstanding developed between parties regarding dialogues and difference in work
attitude and approach that create problem in the management of staff (Kaur, 2018). Hence,
Mba (2015) states that when employees and management face differences in language,
culture and ideas, issues are observed constantly and ultimately their common
misunderstandings risks entire business objectives.
