INTRODUCTION
This report is about business communication which is a process of sharing information with
other people within and outside the company. Business communication is important for number of
reasons which includes setting goals and expectations for organisation, building a dedicated team,
ensuring transparency and improving customer service. The basic purpose of business
communication is that to inform, persuade and promote goodwill into positive manner. There are
four purposes of business communication which includes receiver understanding, receiver response,
and favourable relationship(Pikhart, M., 2018, August).For answering different aspects of business
communication the module plays a very important role and learning has been done through different
sources.

where interpretation of message has been done and also decoding has been performed by the
receiver. In fifth step message has been received by receiver and in the last step receiver might have

Strong management: Effective business communication within team members also leads
towards achieving organisational goals into strategic manner and also have purpose for

management in a strong position.
Business Growth: When communication includes quality parameter in the workplace then
it helps in eliminating unnecessary problems and promote for better performance (Escobar-
Rodríguez, 2017). The ability to communicate effectively in the workplace also helps in
increasing overall productivity and in this way it helps in terms of business growth.

Inadequate Knowledge: Incomplete information and false messages also creates barrier in
effective business communication within team members.
Ambiguity: This situation arises when sender and receiver of the message assumes different
meanings of the same word, sentences and phrases.
Difference in perception: Within workplace, there are different kinds of personalities who
have different point of views about particular matter then it will convert it into different
perception and create barrier into the workplace.
Distraction: Distraction can be in form of background noise, poor lighting, uncomfortable
sitting and it leads towards losing focus towards work then it will act as barrier in effective

then there are less chances that there will be lack of communication and also chances of

I have learnt from the module that for good business communication it is important that information
should be understood by both parties or people involved in that particular communication
(Sheffield, J.P., 2020). I have learnt that within workplace effective business communication can be
possible through better coordination among team members and by using effective communication
channel then communication can become result oriented as well. I have also learnt that that there
are some barriers in effective business communication but it can be resolved through adopting
various measures and solutions for it.

Ways for improving business communication skills
I have learnt that business communication skills can be improved through proper practice,
training and by improving listening parameter. I have also learnt that it can be improved through by
maintaining a consistency level and by improving soft skills of an individual.
Benefits of improvement for future growth
I have learnt that by making improvement in business communication it will help in
reducing conflict levels within workplace and also it increases employee engagement parameter. It
also contributes in improving health of workplace culture and also improves productivity level as
well. I have also learnt that by making improvement in business communication then it leads
towards boosting employee job satisfaction.
Elements of business communication
There are seven basic elements of business communication which includes structure, clarity,
consistency, medium, relevancy, primacy and psychological rule. In my point of view, clarity and
consistency elements are very important for business communication because when an individual
within team have clarity about information then information can be conveyed into an appropriate
manner. I have also learnt that in my point of view, consistency also plays a very important role
because if consistency has been maintained with respect to information then there are less chances
of miscommunication and lack of information among team members.
Reflection
With respect to Gibbs reflective cycle model, there are six stages of this model which
includes description of the experience, feelings and thoughts of the experience, evaluation of
experience whether it is good or bad, analysis to make sense of the situation, conclusion and action
plan that how you will deal with this particular situation in future. When I was going under training
of Manager I have faced issues with respect to business communication and I did not feel very
satisfactory after this particular kind of communication (Veltsos, J.R., 2017). I was thinking that this
is not an appropriate professional business communication where everything has not been cleared
out into result-oriented manner so that I can take further decision for it. One of good thing about
this business communication is that there has been clearance about framework of discussion but
there was lack of understanding with respect to deeper discussion and also about related parameters.
I have concluded from this particular discussion that for taking proper decision it is important that
discussion should be done on each and every parameter with deeper understanding level so that
