INTRODUCTION
Communication refers as a process which basically transmit idea, thoughts , information
and knowledge from one person to another person in respect of getting a desired and useful
response from that particular receiver. Communication is essential for the business and its crucial
to focus on communication process of business. For this report, LearnEnglishUk organisation
which is private company in Birmingham , England and incorporated on 2018. This report
discuss about the organisational communication and highlight some communication barriers at
that company. Apart from this, report also provide some recommendations and discuss about
strategies to outcome of these barriers.
MAIN BODY
Organisation Communication
Organisational communication is playing a essential part in the Organisational success. It
mainly focus on creating a strong relationship with employees and intact with all the internal
members of the Organisational and besides this interested external members (Holland, 2016).
There are many types of Organisational communication which are discussed below-
Oral and Written Communication Oral -This communication consider as a direct communication between two person. In
this both sender and receiver both exchange their ideas and facts orally. LearnEnglishUk
company communicate orally with employees and students and communicate through
face to face conversation, use electrical device ( Telephone, audio, and video
conferencing). Oral communication helpful in ask direct question and clear all doubts
(Malhotra and Ackfeldt, 2016).
Written – This communication includes words, diagrams, charts, pictures and graphs in a
written form. This communication are basically used in organisation. LearnEnglishUk
communicate also in a written forms through letters,magazines, posters, notes ,
handbooks, memos , manuals and Boards.
Directional Communication Upwards –When communication process flows from lower level to upper level that is

when lower authority employees and students need to ask question and give their reaction
and suggestions in context of any issues and statements. Downwards – When communication process flows from upper level to down level then it
consider as downwards communication. This communication basically going through
superior to subordinates. LearnEnglishUk company follow this communication in a
proper manner because company need to provide day to day information to their
employees and also students. In this communication includes some set of guidelines ,
instructions, order and directive actions (Palmieri, Perrin and Whitehouse, 2018).
Horizontal – It is also known as lateral communication that basically flow between
different people and departments of the company on a same level. LearnEnglishUk
company consider this communication to communicate with same level employees in the
department.
Formal and Informal Communication Formal This type of communication follow proper organisational structure and
communicate with a formal manner with the higher authority and other position of
employees. LearnEnglishUk company follow a proper formal channels and provide some
guidelines and official message which is mandatory to follow each and every member of
company. Company includes departmental meetings, conference calls, conferences,
webinars, interview are consider as a formal communication.
Informal – The other name of this communication is “Grapevine” and also consider as a
free flow of communication. This communication show informal and casual relationship

and use gesture, silence, smile and glance to communicate (Smith and Gilbert, 2018).
Internal and External communication Internal -This communication take place inside the organisation includes communication
among group of employees, different department of employees and also communication
among employer and employees within LearnEnglishUk company. Company can
communicate through oral, written, audio- visual , upward, downward, formal and
informal way with other employees within company. Company can give instruct, inform,
motivate, entertain, educate, training, counselling, direct, monitor all the people inside the

Physical Barriers
This is most common barrier of communication. It consider the geographical distance of
people because basically communication is easy in short distance. But in this time latest and
advanced technologies help to reduce this barriers because through proper technologies

students (Stromberg, et. al., 2016 ).
Emotional Barriers
This barrier occur when people find difficulty to express their feeling and emotions

people feel homesick and isolated so in that situation company face this barrier.
Noise Barriers
Sometimes noise problem affect the whole communication between sender and receiver.

Technical Barriers

but sometime internet connectivity become slow and Wi-Fi speed become poor so it affect the

company structure. In company, many barriers occur through miscommunication ,
misinformation , lack of knowledge etc.
Attitude Barriers
This barrier also consider as a most common barrier for the company. Some people like
to feel left out and alone because of their attitude and they do not like to become social and less

this barrier most of the time with employees and students because some employees and students
have a attitude and ego problem which affect their relation others ( Yusof and Rahmat, 2020).
Recommendations
Communication is consider as a base of success for the LearnEnglishUk company so it is
necessary to focus on various activities which help to reduce the impact of communication
barrier and communicate effectively. Company should focus on their communication strategy
and also aware about the language of lessons, message , tone. Company need to use simple
English in schools and colleges so that all the students can feel good and communicate easily
with the other students and teachers. Company should consider that their staff members know
about the other languages so that they can speak effectively and convey their message to the
students in a effective way. Company also need to pay more attention on feedback of their clients
and students so that company easily resolve their issue. LearnEnglishUk company need to take
care of proper heating and air so that students feel comfortable. Besides this, company do better
arrangement of internet connectivity so that no one can face poor Wi- Fi problem. Company
need to focus on noise affects so that all the classes and meetings conduct with out noise
disturbance. Apart from this company also need to take care about the formal and informal
communication so that company easily delivery all the details, instructions and guidelines to

As per this report it can be said that communication is really significant for every

discussed about the internal and external , formal and informal , oral and written and other kinds
of communication which mainly responsible for the organisational growth. This report also
focused on barriers of communication and also explained about some barriers which give
adverse impact on communication process and besides this, this report proved that physical and
technical barrier affect the most to the communication. This report provide some
recommendations to deal with the barriers of communication and helpful to create a smooth and
effective communicate within the organisation and outside the organisation.
