A progress report to the Chief Executive Officer on how preparations of the event are
proceeding.
Introduction
In the following progress report, the preparations of the end year celebrations of
Commonwealth Bank. The total achievable targets have been mentioned and the issues that
was faced along the preparation stage are conclusively evaluated.
Aim of the report
The aim of the report is to provide the chief executive officer with information about
the proceedings of the event.
Scope of the report
The scope of the report is to provide other organisations with information about
hosting an event with a number of renowned guests and celebrities.
Discussion
Accomplished tasks
For the proposed event, around 1000 guests have been invited. The welcoming
arrangements are almost completed. The avenue preparations need around 1 more month to
complete. The stage still needs around 2 months to complete (Wohlers 2014). The props for
the stage have been bought and the lighting arrangement is completed. All the guests,
politicians and celebrities have been sent with formal invitation notices of which 40% have
already responded back about their prior presence (Rochet and Tirole 2014). More than 90%

employees are expected to visit the event. The stage for the red carpet walk is still underway.
The chef who will be organising the three course dinner has been confirmed as well.
Encountered problems
The encountered that were faced during the preparation stage was with chief guests.
Initially, a comprehensive list of guests were prepared and confirmed. Some of them decided
to refuse the invitation at the last minute which slowed down our preparation process
considerably (Negishi, Takada and Tono 2013).
Changes
The rock band was changed from Metallica to Guns N roses as the lead singers of the
former band were still confused if they will be able to attend the ceremony or not (Thienpont
et al. 2014). Initially, video ceremony of the achievements of the bank was being shown at
the starting of the ceremony. It was changed to a red carpet show with prominent guests.
Conclusion
To conclude, the progress with the preparation for the event are going as planned. The
setbacks were real but it has not stull not reached the critical status. This report is the updated
progress report. The preparation is expected to end on 15TH December.
