Introduction
Effective business communication plays a very important role in making any business
successful by enhancing understanding, constructing the effective business interrelation for
achieving the main objective of the business. This report is a reflective report which will show
the huge importance of effective business communication for making the business performance
enhanced as well as successful in the competitive market. It will mainly include the three
sections that will base on my learning experience of the business communication during the time
of doing the work activities. The first section of the report will explain the various different types
of concepts of the communication as well as their consequences in the business environment of
the organization. The second section will explain the one important communication concept that
is used the overall ten weeks and the third section will explain the two effective business
communication concepts that will be helpful for my future professional and career life.

Section 1
Week 1:
Effective communication: This week, I have gained knowledge of the significance of
communication in relation to successfully coordinating and supporting the organizations for
attaining the main objective of their business. It also helped me to enhance my professional
working life effectively. I have enhanced my learning towards the ethical communication which
can be very helpful for me to effectively develop and control the team for achieving the
particular goals of the firms (Brink & Costigan, 2015). It has provided me with an excellent
understanding of the main purposes, and models of the communication process. I have also
enriched my knowledge of the various different types of communication theories, principles, and
competencies so that I can enhance my communication skills which are very important for my
professional life and career. This process is very important for every organization for effectively
building the strong growth and management of the overall employees. It helps the employees to
share their ideas, as well as get their feedback so that they can improve their work excellently.
Week 2:
Non-verbal communication and listening skills: This week, I have enriched my knowledge on
the significance of non-verbal communication as well as listening skills within the organizations.
The non-verbal skills can be referred to as the communication that has to be done by using other
methods without taking use words and graphics in it (Iosub & Platon, 2016). I have also learned
the effective interrelation between the non-verbal and verbal communication, proxemics,
kinesics, paralanguage as well as the main objective of the non-verbal communication. I have
also understood the prominence of the Listening skills which helps in effective listening as well
as performing the particular activities for achieving the main targets of the business environment
in a successful way. I have also enhanced my knowledge that the employee who usually ignores
their feedbacks is treated as the bad listening skills that don’t have the listening skills in relation
to the business environment of the organizations. It helps in enhancing the decision-making
process within the business environment of any organization.

Week 3:
Effective written communication skills: In the third week of my work activity, I have enriched
my knowledge on the significance of having the effective written communication which helps in
effectively communicating your ideas and message with clarity to the target business
environment of the organization in an efficient manner (Canpolat, et. al., 2015). It is very vital as
well as the effective mode of the business communication which includes the letters, faxes,
email, telegrams, brochures, advertisements etc. The organization should provide an effective
training program for developing the written communication skills within the employees for
making the business successful. It helped me to enhance my writing skills and grammar so that I
can able to perform effectively in the business firms.
Week 4:
Enhanced academic writing: In the fourth week of the work activity, I have effectively
understood and learned the concept and importance of academic writing in an efficient manner.
This type of writing in mainly refer as the specific style of expression which is formal writing
that makes use of the third person perspective for explaining the particular issue or topic in an
efficient manner (Waung, et. al., 2017). It helped me to enhance my understanding on the usual
as well as the particular purpose of the academic written documents that mainly includes various
concepts on the paragraphs, sentences, references, plagiarism etc.
Week 5:
Academic essay: In the fifth week of the work activity, I have understood and learned the
concept of the self-reflection and literature review writing in the business environment of the
organizations. It helped me to enhance my research work within the business environment of the
organization. The literature review skill mainly focuses on determining the different suggestions
and situations regarding the business so that it can help in effectively taking decision-making
practices within the business firms (McDougall, et. al., 2015). This communication skill method
has enriched my knowledge so that I can enhance the writing regarding the expressing my
experienced reviews in order to the specific situations within the business organization. It helped

me take the effective decision-making process for achieving the main business outcomes
effectively.
Week 6:
Enhanced public speaking and vocational presentation: This week I have gained knowledge
on the effective perception and significance of the public speaking and vocational presentation
which is very important for making the business successful in the competitive market (Callahan,
2014). I have able to learn the different methods of this communication skill regarding the
appropriate structuring of the presentation so that it can help in extremely enhance the skills of
the public speaking in an efficient manner. I have also able to learn the communication hesitation
concept with the factors to overcome it within the business organization.
Week 7:
Interpersonal and intercultural communication: In the seventh week of work activity, I have
enriched my knowledge and understanding of the significance of intercultural communication
within the business firms working environment. For making the successful business, the
organizations are extending their business globally for achieving the huge profits and
productivity in a successful manner. The business needs to establish in different countries where
there is having variation in the culture and beliefs of the people (Levin & Peterson, 2013). It
helped me to effectively understand the context cultural communication, barriers in the inter-
cultural communication, and the styles of the cross-culture communication as well as also helped
me to determine the interrelation between the culture and non-verbal communication within the
business firms.
Week 8:
Organizational structure and communication: This 8th week of the work activity, I have
enhanced my knowledge on the significance of the organizational structure and communication
which are mainly done by the employees in the business environment of the organization. The
organization structure mainly focuses on showing the specific paths and information which
should be followed by the employees for doing the communication practices within the business
environment of the organization (Abdulai, et. al., 2017). It showed me that the business

organization majorly take use of two types of communications for making firm successful by
achieving the main objective of the business. It has helped me to enhance my learning on the
formal communication networks in relation to the business organization.
Week 9:
Effective meeting for the group development and decision-making process: In the 9th week
of the work activity, I have learned the importance of the organizational meetings for making the
effective groups and teams within the workplace. It helped me to effectively understand the role
and functioning of the teams as well as groups within the business environment of the
organization. The meeting plays a very important role in the business because it helps in
developing an effective group decision-making process and enhance the coordination of the
activities and the main objective of the business organizations. It helps in effectively maintaining
and controlling all tasks of the business firms efficiently (De Nobile, 2017).
Week 10:
Intrapersonal and interpersonal communication: In the 10th week of the work activity, I have
effectively understood and learned the importance of the intrapersonal and interpersonal
communication for my career as well as professional life. These communications are very
important for the workforce of the business organization because it helps the employees to
effectively build the strong relationship and understanding for themselves so that they can
enhance their business working performance in an efficient manner (DeKay, 2012). It has also
helped me to understand the different types of communications like aggressive and assertive
communications which are totally opposite in nature. The aggressive communication is very
harmful communication which destroys the relationships in the business whereas the assertive
communications help in building strong relationships which are also called as problem-solving
techniques.

Section 2:
Effective public speaking: A communication skill plays a very important role for every
employee who is working the business environment of the organization. It provides the facilities
for making a strong bond with the employees, taking an effective decision-making process and
also motivating all employees for attaining the main objective of the business organization
efficiently. Public speaking is one of the most important types of communication that is used in
the business environment of the organization (De Nobile, 2017). Effective public speaking helps
in effectively attracting the employees to do an enhanced performance for achieving the main
target of the business, as well as also helps in developing the strong bond between the employers,
employees, and investors at the workplace. There is a huge need for public speaking skills by
every employee of the organization so that they can able to attain the main objective of their
work in an efficient manner.
According to the Canpolat et. al., (2015), effective public speaking is very important for the
organization because it helps in sharing the important information and details to the target
employees effectively. It helps the employees to share their excellent ideas for enhancing the
business to the managers and leaders in a successful manner. It also gives the confidence to the
employees to share their problems and ideas to the managers without any hesitation within the
business environment of the organization. It also helps the employees to get encouraged and
motivated towards their work by the managers so that they can able to enhance their work in an
efficient way.

Section 3:
Effective written communication skills: This communication skill is very important for my
career and professional life because it plays a very important role in the business organization
where the effective writing communication skills are mainly used in each task of the business
organization. My excellent writing skills will help me to write the formal business tasks, reports
and activities without any grammatical mistakes in it like official emails, messages, and
newsletters etc. This skill will help me to enhance my business working performance in a
successful manner.
Non-verbal communication and listening skills: This skills will hugely help me to enhance my
professional life and career by achieving the high goals with effective business performance in
the organization. Non-verbal communication and listening skills will help to achieve the
reliability as well as support in my communication skills (Madlock & Dillow, 2012). It helps me
to effectively understand the main motive of the tasks and activities which are needed to be done
by me. It will help me to easily understand the main important details of the business tasks for
achieving the main objective of the business firms effectively.

Conclusion:
From the above reflective report, I have concluded that effective communications skills play a
very vital role in the business for making it successful in the competitive business market. The
communication skills help people who are working in business firms to get motivated and
confident towards their work so that they can easily able to achieve enhanced performances in a
successful way. It helps the organization overall employees to easily share their ideas and
feedback with their senior's employees. The communication also helps in understanding the
demands and requirements of the employees, target customers and also a market in a successful
manner. All type of communications skills is very important for every employee of the business
organization because it helps them to take the effective decision-making process for making the
business successful in the competitive market.
