INTRODUCTION
Business communication is the method through which organisation tend to communicate
with different department in the organisation. In this report the manager of Mr. Fishy have the
responsibility to manage the employees and make sure that communication is done properly.
There are culture difference and manager have to promote better work relation with the effective
channels of communication
Literature Review:
As per the view point of Newman 2019, Business communication is the process which
involve constant flow of information. Organisation these day operate at larger aspect and involve
larger number of people. There are various levels of hierarchy in company so it become essential
for enterprise to have effective flow of communication in order to operate business activities
smoothly. Communication plays a vital role in firm because it helps in gaining immediate
feedback and misunderstanding can be avoided. There must be effective communication between
managers and employees which leads towards success and growth of organisation. Business
communication is a goal oriented technique which help in formulation of polices and regulation
in a well-defined manner. Good communication helps in building goodwill of business entity in
market.
TASK1
Describe and analyse the purpose and principles behind different forms of organisational
communication
Organisational communication is crucial as for company it help to carry out the basic
information within firm. Manager of Mr. Fishy, must provide proper information which help in
identify the roles and responsibility in a well-defined manner. Here are some purposes of
organisational communication which are described below:
Motivation: Manager have the responsibility to communicate employees about job role
and tell them to complete their task in well-defined manner (Fahlgren and et. al., 2019). For the
company like Mr. Fishy it is important to motivate employees in order to achieve desired goal of
the company. This will facilitate organisation to perform operational activities smoothly and able
to capture large market share. Here verbal form of communication is used by the manager to

enhance employee skills and try to motivate them in order to achieve organisational aims and
desired goal effectively.
Sharing of information: Communication act as support for successful organisation
which allow information to flow from one place to another. For Mr. Fishy, manager must share
all the information to employees and subordinates so that employees have all essential
information regarding assigned role. This will help management to make effective decision and
easy to implement those polices for the befits of company in future.
Socialization: Business is all about work which should be done effectively so that aim
and objectives can be achieved (Zerbe, and et. al., 2019). In the context of Mr. Fishy, managers
should develop the effective communication channel so employees get more socialized and make
healthy relation with employees. This will facilitate company in delivering quality offering as
well as employee’s performance would be increased.
Communication bring business alive: It is the key to success in future and help in
generating profit for the company. In the case of Mr. Fishy it is important to maintain the flow of
communication in company so that employees can bring effective outcomes. Frequent
communication help in reducing misunderstanding and theft in organisation. Company can use
different types of communication as per their feasibility. Company can use verbal
communication during presentation and video conferencing. Another is Non verbal it is consider
informal mode of communicating with each other. Visual communication can be used during
presentation which include drawing and sketch.
Principles of organisational communication:
Formal communication: It refers to the communication which take place through
official channel in organisation which is designed by the mangers. In he context Mr. Fishy
managers should create a strategy for formal communication which moves from manager to
employees and upwards goes from employees to manager (Brunton, 2019). This kind of
hierarchy help organisation to make decision effectively and reduce chaos and misunderstanding
in organisation.
Informal communication: This kind of information occurs naturally and they do not
have structured way of communication. In the accordance of Mr. Fishy manager must use
informal communication which help company as well as employees to work effectively and also
reduce stress which facilitate in developing healthy environment.

Interpersonal communication: Nowadays interpersonal communication has become
important because of telecommuting and online communication. For the organisation like Mr.
Fishy employees can communicate effectively with the help of technological advancement such
as video conferencing and Skype (Bannier, C. and et. al., 2019). Organisation as well as
employees must have access to communication which minimize confusion and misunderstanding
in company. Interpersonal communication helps in developing employees confidence as well as
moral which result in growth and expansion of organisation.
Apply principles of effective communication to enhance practises
Effective communication is done between two or more persons where intended message
is successfully delivered from one place to another which is received and understood. Here are
some principals of effective communication to enhance practises effectively.
Principal of clarity: The idea or message should be communicated clearly which can be
understood by receiver at the same time. Manager of Fishy should communicate effectively
about new polices to employees. Manager have to make sure that there is no ambiguity in the
message there should be clear and evoke communication. This will help employees to understand
culture of organisation.
Feedback: Another principle of communication is feedback which is important to make
effective decision (Bannier, Pauls, and Walter, 2019). In regards of Mr. Fishy, manager must
take feedback regarding the convened message which help in developing healthy relationship
among employees. There should be feedback information from the employees to check whether
they understood the message in the same time with correct meaning or not.
Principle of Attention: In order to make effective communication it is important to draw
the attention towards message. As for Mr. Fishy, manager have the responsibility to track
employees and see whether they are paying attention to the information effectively. For instance,
if manager is explaining about polices to the employees so it is important for manager should be
attentive so that individual listen to the instruction carefully.
Principle of Consistency: This states that communication should always be consistent
with the policies, plan, programmes as well objective of company. Manager of Mr. Fishy must
have well-structured polices on which employees can rely on (Sutter and Kieser 2019). The
consistency principals are often ignored by the managers as they try to changes polices as per the
requirement of organisation.

Every manager of organisation are expected to effectively communicate with employees
who are working in the organisation. For effective communication there must be certain skill set
required for delivering message in well-defined manner. There are some best practises for
managers which are explained briefly.
Be relatable: Every successful manager makes a special effort to get to know team as a
whole. In the case of Mr. Fishy it is crucial for manager to engage in informal chats often with
employees to understand the attitude and behaviour of employees. Management should show
interest in employees and motivate them to accomplish the desire goal effectively. This will help
organisation to expand their business operation smoothly. Hence it helps in minimizing the
employees conflict and promote healthy environment which lead towards expansion and growth
of the company.
Free flow of information: It is one of the most important aspect for manager in
communication practises because it provides sense of freedom to openness to employees.
Manager of Mr. Fishy must implement policies which help to convey message to employees
easily. This ensure that information and communication are delivered to the right team and also
make sure that employees do not miss any update regarding crucial information which is deliver
by manager.
Develop internal communication strategies: It is responsibility of manager to spend
time carefully in crafting in internal communication strategies so that effective outcomes be
developed. For the company like Mr. Fishy, managers to make polices with help of internal
communication which ensure managers to make quality decision in a well-defined manner. This
will also help in solving in internal conflict among employees which can hamper the productivity
of employees.
Create channels for feedback and debates: Another aspect of communication practises
for manager of Mr. Fishy is to take proper and regular feedback from the employees (Kelly, and
MacDonald 2019). Manager should promote open communication at the company and have duty
to promote take feedback from employees and make changes which if required. Management
must allow their employees to express their feelings so it will create sense of importance in the

conflict without harming the performance of employees.
Communication practises for employees and staff:
Communication can be inadequate in many aspect in workplace (Braun, 2019). Many
businesses are heavily focused on to deliver the message to their staff so that business can be
operated easily. As the result commination is often overlooked in the case of employees and
workers. High performance employees have proper communication among the department. They
become engaged in when they are understanding the company fundamental principles and
objective of company. In the organisation like Mr. Fishy, employees were in stress and facing
emotional conflict due to BREXIT as company were cutting down the jobs. To overcome this
problem manages have to provide right information regarding employees polices which help in
reducing conflict and misunderstanding among employees.
Executive summary
This report the based on the business communication which shows the importance of
communication within the organisation. In this report managers have to manage the employees
with the help of effective communication. It has been further found out that communication
plays an vital role in growth and development of the organisation. Al last it has been concluded
that to generate profit effective communication is important in expansion and growth.
RECOMMENDATION
As per the above report it has been recommended to manager of Mr. Fishy is that they
should use proper channels of communication so that operational activities can be done
smoothly. It is further recommended that organisation should use interpersonal communication
in the organisation to improve the production which leads towards profit generation.
CONCLUSION
From the above report it has been analysed that managers help in making effective
policies with the help of proper communication. Further it has been figure out that the
communication practises help in understanding the drawbacks and barriers of communication
which slow down the process of company. Hence manager plays vital role in developing proper
