INTRODUCTION
Business Communication refers to communication between two or more people in an
organisation (Altberg and et. al, 2015). This type of communication may be done within the
organisation or outside as well. it can also be defined as sharing of the information among group
of people working within an organisation with a common motive. Here, the organisation is
Sports Love. The project report will be laying its focus on the explanation and analysis of the
principles and the purpose of the HR director which is required to be considered in the
communication strategy. It also lays its focus on the features or the characteristics that
participants should posses for being an effective listener as well as speaker with the aim of
making the communication effective. The report also lays its focus on the evaluation of strengths
and weakness of communication in the business context.
TASK 1
1. Principles And Purpose Of HR Director
The principles and purpose of HR director of the Sports Love develop with
communication strategy. Therefore, purpose would be as follows:-
Developing Thorough Understanding of Company's Objective:- The HR director of the
Sports Love communicates to accomplish their purposes. The more focused an HR will be
regarding the goals; the more easy and effective it would be in having a crystal and clear
understanding in respect of the aims; objectives and mission of organisation. Therefore, in
communication strategy, understanding for objectives helps to create more focused on HR that
assists to create clear development and understanding.
Analysing Current Capacity of HR:- The HR of Sports Love can resolve the purpose of
organisation more effectively by observing the working capacity in an effective manner.
Analysing the departmental working capacity by keeping the motto of the Sports Love in back of
mind to meet the goals of organisation towards which organisation is leading ( Alvarez, 2016 ).
With the help of effective communication strategy, HR manager can easily analysis current
capacity of themselves which would be beneficial to accomplish purpose and targets.
Keeping Message Simple:- One policy that a HR director should adopt for making the
communication effective among the employees. In Sports Direct, the HR manager, should,
exercise such practices within the organisation, so that, for anyone it would be easy and

employees working in Sports Love are not well versed in speaking English. So, in order
to communicate any idea or message to consumer it should be clearly spelt out otherwise,
it would be having a very negative impact on the mind of customer. Perception of truthfulness and respect between all parties:- To communicate any idea or
message to the customer in an effective manner it is very essential to grab their attention.
Along with this, it is essential to respect between all parties with truthfulness. The
behaviour and the emotional attachment with the customer plays an important role in
grabbing the attention of the potential customer. In Sports Love, HR is training its
employees and the co-workers in such a way that, they grab the attention of the customers
with truthfulness and sell them the best sports equipments by concerning about their
fitness.
Integrated and coordinated vertically and horizontally:- If the employees of Sports Love
breaks the protocol and get informal with the customers with the motive of selling their
products to the customer. In this way, integrated and coordinated vertically and
horizontally communication assists to focus on targets and goals. Now, in this case there
are chances that, the customers get in touch with the seller and also a bonding gets
established. The HR of Sports Love is adopting this principle, with the motive of
improvising the communication of staff members within and outside the organisation.
In this way, HR of Sports Love can improve the communication by adopting these
principles to solve the concerned purpose.

An effective listener have following features:-
Effective listeners never interrupt in between the communication which is prevailing on
any topic within the organisation (Gilchrist, 2016).
They always allow the people with whom they are communicating to show/express their
feelings without interrupting in between. In Sports Love, there are not any such type of
people who are listening very attentively or paying attention to the point of other person.
These persons always wait before speaking or giving their opinion in front of others. In
Sports Love, the employees, are not having such type of features in them.
They start communicating with the customers without, listening to their point of views
and understanding their mindset.
Effective Speakers have the following types of features:-
Speakers are effective at times when they are having confidence; capable of doing eye
contact; fully passionate; having the ability to modulate their voice as per the situation
and not only this, have the ability to make the conversation more effective by getting
connected with the audience (Holden, 2016).
The workers of the Sports Love, should have the ability to get connected with the
customers in order to grab their attention and to have a hold on them.
If the employees and the workers of Sports Love are able to make eye contact and get
emotionally connected with the customers then, there are chances that, they would be
able to sell their products to that customer.
