Analysis of Communication Trends in the Workplace: MGMT1201 Report

Introduction
The report contains the useful communication trends which are suggested by me according to
my research which I would like to see in my future organization as a part of their business
communication. I have researched and analysed and after that, I have suggested few among
the multiple choices. Which I have some of them are the interpersonal communication basis,
intrapersonal communication basis and some are related to the technology they are described
later in the research paper. The communication channels which I would like to be available in
the organisation and changes at that place that would recommend by me. I have created an
acronym for the communication which is:
“UNCOVER”
U – Understanding
N – Network
C – Competency
O - Open conference
V - Value-based management
E - Ethical Values
R - Remote Access.
Analysis
As per the research of business communication and methods, the trends I would like to see in
my future organization is “UNCOVER” which means: Understanding, Network, Cloud
services, Open conference, Visible Light Communication, Ethical Values and remote access.

The explanation of acronym that will explain the concept of change in communication and
technology which future organization should have is as follows:
Understanding: The communication process it the way we communicate with others
determines the quality of our life. It is the medium of transferring information from one place
to other with the help of a communication channel is called as communication process.
Sender is known as first party who sends information and receiver is second party who
receives information and decodes it to understand. In simpler terms it can be defined as a
process of sending information from one person to another. For example;
Joe have an idea which he does not share with any one and keeps it with itself, he will not
credit of his idea by keeping it to himself. If he passes his idea or thought to his colleagues he
has to communicate effectively. If you are working in an organisation and you do not share
your work with your boss in a well-defined manner you will never get credit of it (Business,
2016)
Network: Networking is the ultimate level of communication. It transcends words and
pictures to provide pathways for thoughts, ideas and dreams. Networking that exist today is
the result of millions of years of evolution and growth. A proper channel of network provides
easy transmission of information (Chanty, 2019),
Cloud services: The development of internet services area created a significant impact.
Through cloud services retrieving and transferring data is safer than physical storage. It can
be further classified into three main services (Saas Genius, 2017).
1. Software-as-a-service (SaaS): This service deals with the users primarily with the
software available on the cloud.
2. Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS): This service deals with computing infrastructure as

It’s fully outsourced service. It is the lowest level of cloud solution and refers to
3. Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS): It deals with the cloud computing and provides services
related to it. This facility enables customers to develop, run, and manage applications
as they do not require to any infrastructure to operate.
Open conference: A term often related to public access and community development. This
will also oftentimes include an open source type of culture. Through open conference we can
connect internationally with people having various responsibilities. It provides assistance
with conference publishing and reduces the cost of conference publishing by providing
readers the open access to contents and proceedings (Office Vibes, 2018).
Visible Light Communication: According to Visible Light Communication (2015) is the
method which uses light to enable internet of things (IoT). Led light bulbs are set with small
chips to send and receive data by light emission. The implementation can be done in stores,
building and tunnels. It provides high-precision service within a small radius; transmission is
done using light from Led’s which makes the communication possible in the tunnels which
were not possible. The transmitter uses light which is visible and sends it to receiver and
makes the two way communication to take place. As far the light is seen the communication
takes place. It can be used under water as well as seen in research soon a new technology
named as LiFi. Adaptation of this technology at the organisation will enhance the data
transmission with high speed and they can gain profit as lights are available in the office.
There is a high cost involved in proving internet through fibre cables and also have a
maintenance cost with it (Services mobiles, 2015)
Ethical Values: The companies have some work ethics which the employee of the
organisation has to follow and it also controls the virtuous behaviour of people acting as the
principle guidelines of the organization. To gain a good business reputation company

maintains the ethical values in the organisation as they are concerned about public relation
that it will develop and promote ethical values among the staff of organization. It also set
guidelines for the staff when doing business with the customers (Lanecc, n.d.).
Remote Access: Operating freely from any location by just having proper technology such as
computer or a network connection. It allows the freedom to work without being present at the
actual place. In other words, users gain access systems remotely by using a working internet
connection (Search Security, n.d.).
According to “Work Front (n.d.)” the 5w’s used for effective communication:
Why – Why question is important to be asked before doing any project as it gives you the
understanding of the purpose behind the work and it helps you to reach the desired outcome.
What – During the time of research having the idea of what we have to research makes
things simpler and helps you to reach at the desired search results.
Who – For are you working for is also one of the critical component of such as, stakeholders,
customer from whom the project need to be completed.
When – knowing the submission date will to finish the work and plan the work accordingly.
Where – It deals with the various geographical aspects of a solution such as where are the
users located.

Summary/conclusions
The above explanation shows the importance of technology in business communication
which is rapidly changing environment. Future organisations need to adopt the latest
technology for the survival as everything in future organisation is technology driven. The
communication channel and medium in an organisation needs to be updated to latest
technology.
