REFLECTION
Business communications is an important aspect for every organization as it a basic
factor which indirectly plays crucial role in success and failure of an organization (Bovée, Thill
and Raina, 2016.). I enjoyed working on this module because it taught me many new things. My
experience of regarding this project is mentioned below:
Gibbs’ Reflective cycle
Description – I did an assignment where a scenario related to high employee turnover
was given. I had to make a PPT for clients by considering different learning styles. Whole
project was a new experience for me. Making presentation is a difficult task for me because I do
not have much experience of working on MS power point. I research various learning styles on
internet and also searched those factors that have power to influence learning and
communication in an organization.
Feeling – When I started working on this project, I was very nervous because it was a
presentation. I was confident that I can search and write content but main problem is presentation
part. Gradually I learnt about making PPT and then after committing some mistakes I made a
decent presentation. I knew it was not perfect but I was happy that this experience will assist me
future.
Evaluation – Whenever we do something, few things go right other don’t (Carswell,
2015). I successfully found relevant answers that were needed to be written. My lecturer slides
also supported me in writing relevant content. I completed my work in allotted time and without
taking much support from others. But I also faced some serious problems while making
presentation. When I first made PPT then my formatting of complete document was very poor. It
took lot of time but still it was not in a presentable form. I made my PPT again after putting more
efforts until I felt that it is at-least at decent level.
Conclusion – Overall, I am satisfied with my experience as developing new skills require
more efforts and I have more faith in my presentation skills. If I will again get a change to work
on this type of project then I will invest more time in making better presentation. I understand
that I am still amateur in making PPTs; with more training I can develop this skill swiftly. I

could have had more positive experiences if would have better understanding of MS power
point. I am confident that with better set of skills I will perform much better in upcoming time. I
will have to work on presentation skill so I can manage this type of situation in way a better way.
Action – Taking action is important for skill development. I will take support of my
friends so I can learn about Microsoft PowerPoint. I will do practice of making PPT in front of
them so they can immediately check my mistakes and teach me right way of doing things. I will
practice for a week as I think it will be enough to get basic understanding.
