INTRODUCTION
A business consultant is someone who involved in the planning, monitoring, suggesting and
implementing activities of a business (Aronoff and Ward, 2016). They basically work directly with
the owner of business in order to initiating business planning after identifying marketing needs in
order to developing necessary skills for business growth and developments. This report is based on
Fairfield School of Management which is community based learning provider located in the heart of
Croydon and a client company of business consultant team. This report is about to providing business
consulting services to Fairfield School of Management in regards marketing and information
technology.
PROJECT A
Client’s business issue (Information Technology)
Fairfield School of Management is an independent, private higher education institution that
offering a diverse and multicultural experience to its students. This institution developed its own
presence by offering quality of educational services as vocational education for those with an
entrepreneurial flair. Now the organisation facing numerous challenges and in between them one
major challenge is new entrants as competition in the UK which is the target segment of the college.
All these institution are enter in the market with same product portfolio as Fairfield School of
Management have. Thus it can be a major threat for Fairfield School of Management because their
competition can lead to their students. Therefore, now the institution seeking for some new options
through which they can create own recognition as a leading college at global level. In this regard,
senior management of them has decided to introduce same course through online learning in order to
expand their market as well as to leave competition from UK. Now the another challenge in front of
Fairfield School of Management is to enter into the new digital market segment as well as to identify
which market segment have minimum barriers to entry and potential for maximum profitability. All
these activities are required relevant market research and potential competitor analysis (Canziani and
Tullar, 2017). Furthermore, an analysis of most suitable strategy to choose one specific option for
market entry by implementing information technology.
Client’s requirements and the combined skills, expertise and experience of the team
Fairfield School of Management assessing one major business problem as the entrants of new
competition in UK. Thus, the senior management of institution has decide to enter into the new
market segment with the help of information technology instead of continuing competition within

market and that could be a major threat for the firm. In respect of introducing new professional
courses major issue in front of firm is of getting proper market research report, some clear strategies
to grow market awareness as well as increase student applications (Sheingate and Sheingate, 2016).
