The concept of the business impact analysis (BIA) is able to differentiate the activities
which are considered as critical and non-critical (Torabi, Soufi & Sahebjamnia, 2014).
According to the concept of BIA, the disruption of the activities which are considered to be
unacceptable is known as critical or urgent functions and the cost of recovery is significantly
influential in terming a function to be urgent (Silvius & Schipper, 2014). Hence the paper
discusses one such business impact analysis of a chosen organization Zume Pizza Inc.
The organization is an automated pizza delivery restaurant headquartered in
California, United States. Alex Garden and Julia Collins are the two founder of the
organization and it was founded in the year 2016 (zumepizza.com, 2018). Julia Collins is the
CEO of the organization and concentrated in swerving salad, pizza and cookies as their main
products. The organization was experiencing the excellence of the 150 human employees and
8 robots in the processing of their products.
The organization was operating in the food tech and food delivery industry. The stakeholders
for the organizations were the investors like Jerry Yang and a venture capital firm named
SignalFire. Apart from that the people of Mountain View, Atherton, Menlo Park, Palo Alto,
and East Palo Alto were the main focus of the organization as the customers. The main
business operation of the organization is to deliver Pizza to their customers.
The organization has the patent to cook food during the delivery and that is the main
reason it takes significantly less amount of time in processing. According to the claim of the
organization it takes minimum of 4 minutes for the operation and the maximum could be 20
minutes.
The organization uses humans for the shaping of the pizza dough and addition of the
toppings. The organization uses self-cleaning robot cutter for the slicing operation of the

pizzas. The customer choices are anticipated by the usage of the algorithm. Along with that
the organization uses the 56 GPS equipped automated vans for their operation.
The inputs for the organization are the raw material, human employees and the robots
for their operation. The output will be the pizza, salads, desserts and cookies.
The organization is significantly dependent on the suppliers for the collection of the
raw materials in order to process their food products. The dependencies on the humans are for
the creation of the pizza dough and the dependency on the robots are for the slicing operation
of the pizzas. The output dependencies are generally for the generation of the revenue as each
of the food products are introduced into the market in order to increase the growth of the
organization.
The organization is subjected to maintain the quality of their products in accordance
to the health standards of US and along with that the organization is to consider the
employment rights as well in accordance to the Labour rules of the nation (fda.gov, 2018).
The organization must form business ties with other organization so that they can
outsource any sort infrastructure or support that they are in need under the emergency
situation.
The general benefits for the organization will be the generation of significant profit as
the online food industry is significantly expanding with each day passing and for the
customers, the nature of the business will serve them according to their preferences in a
significantly speedy manner.
The benefits will be that the organization is observed to use the robots in their
operations which will be significantly reducing the job employment for the people of US.
