Negotiations are an essential aspect of the business. It can be identified that negotiation can
have a vital role in the development of a particular organization. It is quite evident that the
necessity of negotiations in business is quite broad. This essay is aimed at the impact of
cultural values and talks in the business development of Canada.
Three importances of cultural values that characterises Canada
Canada is always known as a diverse country. Overall, the people of Canada are a bit polite
and quite reserved than the people of the USA. Several values are associated with the state
such as peace, respect and good government. Some of the most critical aspects of Canadian
people is that they tend to respect. Canadian people are one of the most reserved people
across the world (Brazcanchamber.org, 2019). Several cultural values are fostered within the
country that is a part of their culture and can be extremely important in terms of business
negotiations.
Greeting Others
As per the Canadian culture, a firm handshake is usually the first context in a conversation.
Both genders tend to greet each other with a handshake. In some cases, women tend to nod as
a response to someone’s greetings. In particular areas such as Quebec, acquaintances and
friends tend to kiss each other’s cheek when meeting and leaving. This doesn't happen
between male friends. However, it occurs in the rest of the cases. There are also some other

negotiation. Canadians are always compassionate about this issue. Any comment that shows
reluctance to any culture can initiate a negative mindset among Canadians. Therefore, one
should be very caring and gentle about discussing different cultures and values win a business
meeting. This can improve the effectiveness of the meeting. It can also help in managing
successful negotiations with Canadians (Liu, Ma & Liang, 2019).
Last but not the list being polite is another critical aspect in terms of procurement of a
successful negotiation. It can be stated that the Canadian people tend to be very polite.
Behaving roughly with them will cause more harm than good. Politeness should be an
integral part of any business meeting to improve all the critical aspects of negotiations.
Therefore, it can be said that negotiating with Canadian people can become easy if any entity
