Introduction
Project planning is a part of project management that is related with the use of different
tools of project management in order to successfully complete the project (Kerzner, 2019). The

theoretical approaches and control techniques utilized in the field of project management.
Project planning approaches and Techniques
Project planning is about making plans and strategies to complete the project
systematically. For successful completion of project, it is imperative to select right approach of
project planning (Brewer and Dittman, 2018). In this context, different techniques and
approaches of project planning are mentioned below:
Agile: It is one of most popular and recognized techniques of project management. It is
the approach that is used for the projects which are iterative and incremental. It is a process
wherein demand & solutions are developed via collaborative efforts of self organization team
and their customers. This is based on the loopholes found in the waterfall method which was not
able to fulfill the demand of competitive and constant movement of the software industry. Main
aim of Agile approach is to develop a suitable software in order to foster the iterative
development, change recognition and team collaboration (Rowe, 2020). The major values of
agile methodology are individuals & interactions over processes, collaboration of customers on
contract negotiation, responding to change effectively.
Prince 2: It is a project management methodology that is used across the globe. It is a
crucial approach that guides organization to complete a project successfully. This approach
helps a project manager to perform different cycle of the project efficiently. Additionally, Prince
2 is based on tried and tested experience of project managers across the world (Anantatmula and
Rad, 2018). In addition, it offers themes, processes and principles so that the project can be
completed in an appropriate way. It guided the project managers of how to start, manage as well
as deliver the project from start to finish. It is possible to complete the project efficiently by
applying this approach successfully.

classical approach. It is based on the proper sequential approach wherein the next task is
performed when the previous task has been successfully completed. Alike, a waterfall the main
aim to accomplish the project successfully (Sanchez and Haas, 2018). It is a suitable approach
when one is working on the project with ample of dependencies. This approach is highly suitable
to manage the complex project wherein the tasks are divided in different components. Here,
phasing is done that is essential for successful completion of a project.
Conclusion
It is analyzed through above-stated information that project management techniques play a vital
role in successful completion of a project. There is discussion regarding various project
