Project Management (PM) can be described as a process of initiating planning, managing
and execution of a project to achieve a specific goal. The PM process involves five distinct
phases, which are initiating, planning, executing, controlling and closing (Kerzner 2017).
Throughout the execution of any undertaken project, constant project monitoring is needed to
ascertain project success. Therefore, PM can be considered as a critical process of any
undertaken project.
Answer 2
Work Breakdown structure (WBS) can be described as a deliverable oriented hierarchical
decomposition of the key works that are needed to be executed by a project team to ascertain
project success. WBS is mainly used for simplifying complex tasks into easier manageable units.
WBS simplifies the complex project tasks by breaking down the project into manageable
units. Each large task is broken down into smaller tasks which can be easily manageable
(Zecheru and Olaru 2016). A simple WBS of a Yard project are indicated as follows-

The above figure indicate that an entire Yard project is broken done into smaller tasks
such as pre and post clean up, cut lawn and others. Those tasks are further divided into
manageable smaller tasks such as pick up trash, bag grass. This is the process is which WBS
breaks a larger task into smaller sub tasks.

Vision Statement: The vision of Qantas is to be a great airline. The strategic vision of Qantas is
to be the world’s best airline in low fare.
The objective of Qantas is to provide excellent and world class services to the clients to
increase the number of satisfied and happy customers. To increase customers’ satisfaction, it is
necessary to address the factors that affects customers’ satisfaction. A project of staffs’ and
employees’ training is recommended to train the staffs regarding the process in which customers’
satisfaction can be improved. This will further help in achieving the organizational objectives.

The training project will provide the needed guidance to the staffs regarding management of the
customers’ queries and complaints which in turn will increase customers’ satisfaction.

Movement of heavy objects from one place to another involves the risk of physical
injuries to the workers and therefore, in this type of project Work health and safety Act 2011
(WHS ACT 2011) comes into play. It is a framework for protecting the health, safety and
welfare of all people at work (Kliem and Ludin 2019). This framework protects the health and
safety of the people who might be affected by any work. The workers who are protected under
this act include employees, contractors and sub-contractors, outworkers, apprentices and trainees,
work experience students and volunteers.

Gantt chart can be described as a horizontal bar chart that helps in managing and
controlling the production. It is used for providing a graphical illustration of schedule of a
project.
The purpose of Gantt chart in Project management is to assist the project manager and the
project team in coordinating and tracking the specific tasks of a project (Gantt and Adamiecki
2015). Gantt chart provides a timeline that illustrates the process in which a project will run.

In the undertaken project of new staff recruitment and the selection process the records
keeping system should document the records of the interviewees, their qualification and their
performance in the interview. This will help in easier decision making about the selection. The
record keeping system that is recommended for this project is electronic records. The electronic
record include the document files, spreadsheets and document files which can be securely stored
in the system (Read and Ginn 2015). Thus, the choice of this system for this particular project is
justified. The other type of record keeping system such as tracking document or storage
management is not used in this case as the project is based on recruitment and it is easier to store
and record interview data electronically.

1. The WBS chart is an effective PM tool that can be used in this project to simplify the
entire staff recruitment and the selection process. This particular tool can be easily accessed from
any PM software such as Microsoft Project
2. The WBS tool breaks an entire project into smaller and manageable tasks. The entire
staff recruitment process can be broken down into manageable units and can be planned in an
effective manner (Burghate 2018). This tool helps in easier management of the undertaken task
by breaking down the entire tasks into several manageable units and therefore the choice of this
tool is justified.

4. The project plan will be finalized after final and accurate estimation of the budget and
resources required in the project, which will help in development of an accurate project plan. The
centers’ project plan will be finalized after consulting the members of the recruitment panel.
Identification of necessary approvals to commence the project will be taken from the
project stakeholders. For any changes to be implemented in the project a change management
plan is to be prepared for effectively managing the change and gaining the approval (Kerzner
2017). The approval is needed to be taken from the project manager and project sponsor. The
project plan will be finalized once the owner formally approves the plan
5. The project finances and the resources can be monitored and managed by tracking the
execution of the project with the planned process. Effective project supervision and regular
project tracking is necessary to check whether the project is in track or whether the project is
delayed (Muller 2017). This method can effectively help in comparing the planned project with
the project implemented so far and therefore, this particular method is chosen. It is superior from
other monitoring process since it helps in analysis of the actual project progress
