INTRODUCTION
Business Environment is the collection of all external and internal factors like demand ,
supply, client, management, owner, government activities , technology innovation, market trend,
customer requirements, economic change etc. Above mentioned factors affect organisation
factors . Collection of these factors influences business of the organisation . There are different
type of business organization it may be small, medium , large. The public company that was
chosen in this report is BBC . It is oldest broadcaster in the world having its headquarter at
Broadcasting house, Westminster, London. It was founded in 18 October ,1922 and their first
director is John Reith (Cherunilam, 2020)

SWOT Analysis of chosen PUBLIC company?
The organisation that was selected is British Broadcasting company.
SWOT
Strength: BBC have good old reputation and also have largest broadcaster having around
twenty three thousand workforce as it has strong brand image that tends to provide immense hike
and BBC has successful in making that. Technological advancement is big strength for BBC .
High software design, technical web design, graphic design has help the company to hold
number one place in market (Luthans, 2018)
Weakness: High Operating cost as BBC competitors are doing their business with much
lower cost , so in this case it lagged behind in the respective race. Raise controversies . Also it
has been blame that news items touch sensitive issues in world on BBC and also raise uproar by
digging those issue which are controversial. BBC raised debates when they broadcast biased
news and unfortunately , most of the time ans is negative (Brown, 2018)
Opportunities: Becoming trendy while BBC has consider as serious news earlier, but
now they try to stepped into entertainment zone and try to conduct various programme on
entertainment, fashion, technology, etc. Joint Partnership is also a good strategy . BBC
popularity is increase day by day due to their partnership with various other satellite channels. As
it creates great opportunities to the business. As most of the viewer prefer to get traditional
matter , packed and labeled in new style completely and it is well known by BBC. Its popular

brand image crossed overseas and has their impact on South America and Asian market are some
location from where it gets enough revenues.
Threat: Strong competition and launching of domestic channels are the threat that are
faced by company BBC. New entry as well as growing existing news channels sometime get
disturb BBC (Nickels, 2020)

PESTLE
Political: Different political policies influence the company BBC as government make
control licence fees amount that was paid by households. As BBC has face government pressure
as broadcast licensing has never been issued for infinity and thus conflict can arise certainly.
Economical: Organisation structure are changing from centralised towards decentralised
to mitigate the bureaucracy which generally exercised in the company . The reformation of it was
seen as radical for economic management and dominantly dictate public sector. Decentralisation
of BBC identified to be pivotal factor for their survival , where change in culture was central to
achieve decentralised structure (Moutinho, 2018)
Social: As UK is considered as leader in terms of digital revolution and also strives to
enhance living quality by getting Britain fully connected and also having audience benefit from
social and cultural benefits of BBC and not excluding anyone due to their respective financial
circumstances. As behaviour of audience has changed in terms new media usage. In peoples
daily life , internet is integrated completely. With active present on different social network
sites , BBC reacting to this change. For children also BBC introduce channels but it is
challenging for BBC to attract teenagers as young people who watch public service related
programme is drastically decrease (Holbeche, 2018)
Technological: Due to rising internet coverage globally BBC has enhanced their website
as currently it is viewed by around 25 million audience on weekly basis. By integrating advance
new technology in performing various internal work , BBC earns profit by reducing cost of
distribution and also advanced journalism opportunities which are brought by internet. Now it
become easy to identify various stories as well as news which is worth reaching ( Reid, 2019)

Legal: For BBC major legal problem is dependence on government as it also choose
board of governor as they act to decide licence fee as permission of broadcasting is only
permitted to grant for only certain phase , not to infinity (Leke, 2018)
Environmental: The head office of BBC is support(Kotabe, 2020)ed by rain water
harvesting system and in their office disposable cups are not allowed because it has centralised
point for waste recycling . Other feature like energy saving lightning and also try to use fair trade
items . Company feels responsible to become aware for environment and offer ethical and fair
services to different communities .

Expectations
Customer: Audience expect from company better quality and services in affordable
prices. By providing good service at low prices BBC can attract large part of audience as their
customer.
Employees: Workforce always demands for good salaries, compensation , rewards and
motivation. BBC by giving salaries as per law and give motivation by giving rewards or doing
promotion provide satisfaction to their employees which results reduction in employees turnover.
Stakeholders: Shareholders always make expectation regarding less risk and high return.
BBC by providing great return attract new shareholders as well as retain existing stakeholders.
Society : As BBC try to design goods and services in such a manner that it does not give
harm or damage to environment.
CONCLUSION:
After deep study and analysis it is conclude that every organisation whether private,
public, voluntary must consider internal and external factors that are present in the organisation
to survive in the competitive market. As it is the responsibility of organisation to design such a
structure that gives benefit to all employees, stakeholders, top management , audience etc.
