Both the NHS and Marriott hotel has different sets of objectives and in order to fulfil them they
adopt diverse strategies. This can be analysed from the number of employees present at both the
firms. As discussed above, NHS is a public organization whose major objective is to serve the
needs and requirements of the society. Therefore, it has appointed wide range of workers to
manage the operations in the most prominent manner. Moreover, the revenue earned in the past
period is quite high than that of the Marriott hotel due to the size and scope of the company.
However, contradictory to the above, the private organization does not have wide range of
employees due to its limited operations. People are only appointed on the basis of vacancy so as
to avoid the excessive cost. Along with that, the profit for the period will also be minimal ion
comparison to the NHS firms. This show that the size and scope of the firm is highly influenced
by its objectives.
