P1.Types and Purpose of different Organisations
1. Public Organisation
•Public clearly refers to governmental, non governmental, non
profit organisations.
•A public organisation is controlled by government.

2. Private Organisation
• It combines all the for-profit organizations. No control here is
under government.
• These organizations or sectors are managed by particular
private enterprises, individuals or a group of individuals. Its only
forte is to make more and more money and for that these sectors
contain more employees than public sector.
• In UK, most of the business activities happen in the private
sector.

3. Voluntary organisation
The organisation which depends for their operations on
occasional or regular volunteers is called a voluntary
organisation. This organisation may or may not be having paid
staff. This type of organisation is characterized by some features
as:
a) Independence from the state.
b) Regime from unpaid trustees.
c)Non inherited and direct membership.

LINKING OF SCOPE AND
STRUCTURE
• The scope of different organizations include Sole
proprietorship, Partnership, Joint stock company.
• In sole proprietorship, it is a low investment thing, so the
entrepreneur takes it all on its own.
• He himself is the organizer, controller and operator and he
himself is responsible for the success as well as failure.
• In partnership, agreement says that each partner should be
familiar with the management and labour. It is also running on
small scale, so it is simple.

ANALYSIS OF BUSINESS
STRUCTURE
• Business environment provides public, private and voluntary
structures. Public structures are governmental. The employee
there are paid by means of taxation i.e. the taxes people pay at
toll taxes.
• Tesco is an example of public organisation. An organizational
structure is broadly a management function that helps mangers
and higher authorities to function together forming a sync and
chain of order.
• It helps in departmentalization of work and is supposed to be
an integral part f any business in today's world.

P2.SCOPE OF ORGANISATION
TYPES
Tesco, Public Organisation :
•Background details – Tesco, a British Multinational Retailer,
was established in year 1999 by Jack Cohen. This multinational
business started from a stall. The name Tesco came when the
CEO purchased a contract of tea.
•Then, he created labels TES from the initials of the name of the
supplier, Thomas Edward Stockwell. Added two letters of his
surname, CO, the brand name called Tesco came.

ALDI, Private Organisation :
• Background details : This organisation is a private retailer
established in 1913 but in 1960, it was divided into two
sections, Aldi Nord and Aldi Sud.
• This organisation started as a small store in Essen. Karl, one
of the two brothers taken off a food shop and the owner of
which already announced that they sell the cheapest foods.
• ALDI started expanding internationally in 1967 and still
expanding its business till the time.

Cancer Research UK, Voluntary Organisation
• Background details – As a result of Cancer Research
Campaign and funds, this charity established in 2002. The
forte of this organisation is to minimize the deaths that caused
by cancer.
• In 2014, the organisation spent 422.67 million on different
projects on cancer research and treatment.

Relationship between Organisational
Functions
• As a Business Analyst, explaining how functions of an
organisation interrelate to the whole organisational structure.
Taking an example of ASDA.
