Good morning dear respect professor and my dear friends,
I welcome you all to my journey through this business course and how this module has
changed my perception and understanding of business altogether.
Before we initiate discussion on this topic, I would like to acquaint you all to my initial
thoughts on this subject, when I first heard of it. Business Environment as the name
mentions came out to me like a relatively easy subject which will focus only at
understanding the factors and players affecting the business that is a part of its
environment. However, this half-baked understanding soon changed when I realized how
the business environment is so much more than simple theories, and how it will help me
further in understanding any business and how to expand it.
Surely it has its own theories and models to understand, but all these theories can be
understood only when they are implemented in real life. This reflection will help me, and I
hope that it help's others as well in understanding the importance of such small yet effective
courses in our studies which prepare us for our professional journey in a very relaxed
manner.
Let’s get started!
First, I would like to tell you how I now see business as. After this course, business for me is
a more comprehensive term which encapsulates not only sales and profits but also
considers loss, risks, competitors, strategic management etc. This course has helped me
develop a cohesive view of business, along with a deeper understanding of the business
interactions.
Second, I am now more understanding of my own professional goals. After studying this
course I have a better understanding of my entrepreneur dreams and how I have to go
about them. It is important for me to focus more on the micro as well as one of the macro
factors affecting the idea I wish to take ahead. Also, I have understood the importance of
defining and working alongside a proper strategy to take the business ahead.
Third most important learning that I had from this was the implementations of these
principles. Whatever I have learnt is practical; right from theories to practical concepts. Also,
I have understood how I can improve my own business or that of someone else by working

simply on fundamentals and not deviating much. I have understood the value of innovation
and how I can implement it in future for my own ideas and ventures. This module has given
me insights by several case studies and has helped me develop a thought process which is
different than what I might have imagined seeing myself in. it is not easy to suddenly change
our thinking and our thought process unless we have something to guide us.
During this course, I have taken help and have helped a lot of my classmates as well. this
again has taught me the value of a good team and how important it is for a good business
altogether. The focus that this module has put on small things which are often overlooked in
business is exceptional and has allowed a lot of understanding on how to avoid unnecessary
slack and focus more on real important issues that go on in a business.
As I mentioned above, this course was easy. This was not because of the topics it had or its
syllabus, but because of the ease with which it was crafted, the cohesive flow and the way it
was delivered to us. The professor ensured that the students do not lose interest in this
mostly theoretical paper, and are always interested in learning new things and
understanding the nuances of business and find practical application of everything that has
been taught in this module.
I have to end by saying how much this module has helped me in understanding things
beyond their face values and analyzing them in detail. I now feel more confident and clear
than ever, and I feel like I am sure about my dreams of starting a business simply because I
now understand the business environment nuances in detail.
