Introduction
In this topic, I will discuss the various factors of business environments in which I am
performing and will focus on utilising & enhancing my skills. Discussion on informal
learning process is conducted at the later stage of this self-reflection.
Q1. Has your definition of business, economic principals and business
environment changed?
Answer: The present business & working environment has facilitated the insights of business
as a practitioner or a professional and has given the exposure of the environment. I can say
yes, the perception which I had with respect to definition & meaning of business, economic
principals and business environment has changed. The factors which I found broadly divided
into internal & external environments of the business enabled me to learn these new
definitions.
Q2. What are some of your professional goals?
Answer:
Personal Development: Improving my leadership, analytical skills and developing conflict
management strategies at work. For me these abilities are significant for vocational a
competency that helps in an individual to achieve their longer-term ones. Milligan, C., &
(Littlejohn, 2014).
Presentation: Communication & art of presentation is one of the major factors which could
affect business and individuals. Lacking in communication skills would put restrictions while
conveying information. Individually, I face problem while speaking publically and at certain
point I become conscious that resulted in unfruitful conveying of information (Littlejohn,
2014).
Team Collaboration: Managing interpersonal skills is also a major factor to become a
successful practitioner. If a person is not able to manage it effectively among its team or
business circle, then the issue faced in collaboration while working & I am working on them
(Littlejohn, 2014).

Time Management: Managing time effectively helps an individual to perform task
effectively with in the time constrain, I have understood that it could be done by listing
creating a time table and marking work according to priority & I would need to maintain it
(Littlejohn, 2014).
Q3. How does what you have learned relate to the present and future?
Answer: I learned these by enhancing my skills and obtaining the necessary training, from
my superiors and peers. Currently, I am well focused and able to manage my work
effectively. The experience gained from the business environment will help me to retain as
well as increase my employability (Benson, Morgan & Filippaios, 2014).
Q4. What do you want to learn more about, and how could it help in
your professional development?
Answer: One thing I am specifically looking to develop is the usage of IT tools, the work
culture in every organisation is changing regularly and adapting various new technologies to
deliver the maximum by getting updated on the tools will provide me additional benefits
while searching for a job or while working (Benson, Morgan & Filippaios, 2014).
Q5. As you think about the future, how might you apply your learning
experiences in later life?
Answer: Once an experience is gained or a skill is developed it remains with the person
through life, both in professional and personal life. The basic accounting methods were
applied by me during my employment which can be utilised by me while doing any
accounting related work in my future (Thomson & Palermo, 2014).
Q6. What could you do to further your professional development
outside of formal studies?
Answer: I will choose the method of informal learning which is taken from our daily lives
which teaches us. Learning experience is gained from various ways such as peer groups,
family, and media. This is a continuous learning process which improves individual skills
throughout the life (Benson, Morgan & Filippaios, 2014).
