Question-Answers: Business
Solution 1
Bribery is an act of influencing the individual’s actions through offering, giving,
seeking or receiving of any valued item or cash. Bribery can also be seen as corrupt practice,
in which both the person one who is offering and other who is receiving the bribe should be
penalized. In my opinion, both earmarks as well as drugs incidents are majorly a form of
bribery as these incidents are causing corruption.
3 business activities which would constitute bribery include:
Offering additional money to an employee and imagining something from them in
return.
Offering additional money to a potential client for the interchange while doing
business
Politicians offering liquor bottles for winning votes.
3 business actions which would not constitute bribery include:
Giving a gift to a well performing employee by the manager.
Tipping the restaurant waiters.
Offering food to poor and needy people.
Solution 2
Yes, I would develop a business conduct code if i am the owner of a small business as
well as I will ensure that each employee must have read the code of business ethics on the
very first day at work because the code of business conduct would offer employees the
direction to handle business ethics related critical situations. I would include variables like
bribery, bulling, and work-life balances in my business ethics code.
Solution 3
In any organization, whistle blowers generally report business ethical violations as
well as alleged misconduct to the topmost managers or law enforcement agencies so that

corruption and unlawful business activities can be exposed. Hence, it is extremely important
that we should not think of whistle blowing as being a tattle tale; it is an ethical way to
expose the situation where you have observed unethical doings during business. Even after
knowing about such unethical activities you do not report them, then you will also become
unethical as well which is not recommended.
Solution 4
As per recent sustainability reports it has been revealed that firms should formulate
and implement strategies from an environmental perspective because of many perspectives
like gaining stakeholders faith, firm’s labor practices, energy efficiency, product sourcing
environmental impact as well as business ethics practices. Besides, the formulation and
implementation of environmental strategies will develop the firm’s image as a green business
which is altering environment-damaging businesses to become a budget-cost producer by the
use of waste minimization as well as global energy conservation.
Solution 5
Ethics can be refers as an understanding of distinguishing capability amid what is
right and wrong, that allows us to make the correct choices. Ethics shape the way we live,
what we do, as well as the surrounding environment that we create by our selected choices.
Now, when we talk about personal ethics then they are related to an individual’s
personal values and morals. Usually, personal ethics are influenced through religion, culture,
society and the surroundings the person has raised in hence it is an essential element of any
person’s life. Business ethics refers to those values and morals which a person must adhere to
while interacting to professional people during business dealings within their professional
life. In my opinion, the both kind of ethics are not same and can never be same yet they are
interrelated as a person always reflect his or her personal ethics into professional life and vice
versa.
