Reflective Essay: Organizational behaviour and Ethics
Introduction
This reflective journal is based on organizational behaviour and ethics, in which I will
narrate learning, experiences and different incidents related to the topic. While reflecting on
organizational behaviour and ethics, the journal is going to demonstrate an application of the
DIEP framework of reflection effectively. To do so, description, interpretation, evaluation,
and planning based on my past experiences in relation to modern organization’s working
environment and suggested behaviour. While narrating my experiences, I will also include
my future plan accordingly. Based on (Lewis, 2019), this reflective writing made me know
the importance of reflection and learning by doing as well. In this way, at the end of this
journal a summary will be provided to engage the readers in most effective way.
Reflection
While experiencing and studying organizational behaviour (OB) subject, I learned the
importance of business ethics in this modern business world. Based on (Knott, 2010), I
realized that by writing a reflection on my experiences and learning, I can evolve my future
career in positive way.
Description: What I have learned in this research
I learned that studying organizational behaviour is important as it offers an
understanding of people’s behaviour within organization settings. It has been realized by me
in an organization, organizational behaviour is very important as it has tremendous
necessities. Besides, OB supports us to gain learning about the complex nature of human
beings into contemporary organizations (Huczynski, Buchanan, & Huczynski, 2013). I
learned about evolution of recent management concepts such as Maslow theory of
management. Apart from this, role of business ethics in achieving desired organizational
behaviour has been understood by me. For learning organizational behaviour, I learned about
personality with the help of important concepts like MBTI locus of control, authoritarianism
and many more (Yousef, 2017).

Interpret: an interpretation of my own insights
My own interpretation of organizational behaviour learning suggests that some
important attributes are essential in an individual’s personality so that they can survive within
modern business environment (Colquitt, Lepine, Wessaon, & Gellatly, 2011). Now, I believe
that flexibility in work is vital for processing info in enhanced depth while improving the
likelihood of memorization (Nelson & Quick, 2013). I also realized that I should learn to
work efficiently with my team members as well as understand the feelings for developing
empathy. I have developed a desire for knowledge as well (Hickson, 2011).
Evaluate: an evaluation of what I have learned in this module
When I evaluated my experience with organizational behaviour and business ethics,
based on (Nelson & Quick, 2013), I found that I have long journey to learn into this area. I
also found that there are both pros and cons of OB theories, as one can get positive out of it at
the same time others can see the challenging aspects of such theories. Based on (Johns,
2014), my evaluation of the whole experience suggests that barriers and challenges need to be
addressed well, whereas learning will always result positive outcomes for future.
Plan: acquired learning’s application to future practice
After using the DIEP framework of reflection, according to my learning based on this
reflective writing (RMIT University, 2019), the future plan of my future ethical engineering
practice will be as below:
I will adopt a practice of reading something inspirational or informational
every day of my daily life.
I will read and learn about business ethics and corporate social responsibility
in detail.
I will improve my team-working skills for my future career endeavours
I decided that I will explore a new horizon as I am willing to acquire new
learning every day.
I will start as well as end my days with positive energy in my mind
I will learn organizational behaviour theories in detail so that I can become a
good leader in the future.

Conclusion
In whole, with the help of this reflective writing, I have integrated all of my
experiences and learning so that I can extract the key essence of them. I could successfully
learn how to use DIEP reflective framework from future perspectives. I found DIEP
framework really useful for future career development. According to me, based on learning
one should decide their future action plan and thereby I evolve my future plan based on this
reflection. Apart from this, reflection helped me to learn human behaviours for the betterment
of an organization. In whole, business ethics is the key element of modern organization
behaviour theories which must be studied and followed for the sustainable future of an
organization.
