Social Investment has encouraged the practices of the corporates for promoting
environmental stewardship, human rights, protection of investors and gender
diversity. It helps the businesses in gaining better recognition, positive reputation,
organizational growth and much more. One of the example of it is Unilever, which
adopts different social investment programmes such as local distribution schemes,
hygiene education programmes and consumer distribution programmes has helped
them for growth of the company and making brands.

The initiatives of the social investment has bow became integral part of the company
for their long-term growth. They link their strategy with the social investment
initiative, which ultimately helps them for long-term growth.
Companies who abide by the guidelines of the integrated reporting by IIRC have to
report that how they are creating value in the broader terms. The corporate social
investment helps the company positively for building competitive advantages.
Relations to my Present or Future
I would say by reading the article that these days companies are more concerned with
the social responsibility aspect. There is hardly any company, which does not follow
this aspect. I think that it is good for investor like us because we would know what
company is contributing towards environment and society as a whole.
