Introduction
In organizations, business functions are the practices that carried out by specific
organization or enterprise and can be divided into the core function and support functions. For a
business, to operate in effective manner, several tasks are carried out by different functional
department including finance, marketing, HRM and many more (Saiia and Schwartz, 2022). The
company chosen in this report is Morrison which is a retailing company. This report will be
based on the several business functions and their effectiveness when they work together.
Role of the different business functions and importance of working together
Role of marketing function- Marketing play a vital role in the promotion of mission and
business of an organization. It serves as faces of a company that coordinates and produce all
material represent a business (Mishra and Mishra, 2022). In Morrison its marketing function’s
role is to reach out to the prospectus customers, community and investors when creating an
overarching image that depict Morrison in a positive light.
Role of finance function- Main role of this function in the organization is to provide all
financial information that is required by other business function in order to operate in effective
and efficient manner. This function also supports the business planning and their decision
making. All the changes inside an organization monitored by the financial function and then it
determine the impact of all changes on the organizational financial position.
Role of the HRM function- This function perform essential role in a business as it recruit right
people for right job in a company so that they can hire a fresh talent in their organization. It also
efforts to improve the employer and employee relations. HRM function of Morrison maintains a
safe working environment and also supports workplace safety training and federally mandated
logs for the workplace injury and fatality reporting.
Role of the production function- It play crucial role in the organization (Zhang, 2022). In
Morrison, it help them to decide best way and design to carry put the manufacturing, this
function supervise, manager and control the workforce, production function looks after quality of
the equipment and its maintenance so as for carrying on manufacturing process smoothly.
Importance of all these function working together
It is an effective method for business to combine all the function to work together as it
cost the cost and also provide continuity as well as improve communication (Nandy, 2022).

When Company combine function that work closely together, for instance if Morrison combine
its HR and accounting and marketing, they have a better communication because some employee
manage all the function. If all functions work together then it reduces the number of the manger
required and their cost.
Conclusion
From the above report it is concluded that in organization different functions are to be
performed with different role. All these functions work to accomplish the organizational goals. If
these function work together then it becomes easier for them to attain their task with limited
resources and fewer efforts. Therefore, it s advised to all organization that they make their all
function o work together in order to accomplish their task effiencitly.
