INTRODUCTION
Business organisation consist several functions which are necessary to perform into the
leading world. All the function have their own significance in relation to fulfil aims and objective
of the company. This project report considers all the functions and their connection while
working. In context with that, Tesco has chosen as a successful organisation of UK. The
company was first established in 1919 (Heller, 2020). it has specialisation dealing into variety of
consumer goods.
Evaluate the importance of different business functions and show how they link together.
Business functions are those activities performed by every business organisation in order
to conduct business practices so that objectives and aim could get achieve. Without performing
these functions, departments and workforce could not work properly for one single motto and
reflect chances for failure. All the functions are conducted for putting right task into right
manner. These functions are named as production, marketing, finance and human resource.
Tesco operates and conducted all the four essential unction into every unit of Tesco. There are
various significance of these functions as production process includes putting right and effective
material for conversion of its final output, marketing involves decision for making the product
grow with attractive ,marketing and promotional technique into the market. Finance function
requires to fulfil cash or monetary requirement of Tesco in order to conduct business activities
properly (Hinds, 2020). Whereas, human resources department of Tesco conduct recruitment and
management process by filling idol positions in workplace also, take decisions regarding
employees welfare, training and development to establish their retention. The company involve
contribution of all these functions simultaneously as it has diversified operations and production
unit. These functions are being set into different separate department for example, finance
department take all decision of cost and pricing factor to make the product competitive into
market so that profit would be greater than cost (Torres, 2018)
Whereas, production department take all these decisions regrading cost into production
procedure and move according with that. Human resource function is connected with all the
function of business as the tasks and activities would get practical implementation by human
workforce. Employees are the only assets with the organisation who make immense efforts in
achieving desired goals of company. Employees and managers of Tesco are specialise in

providing effective services through making strategies and plans for make the product s
innovative (Zimu-Biyela, 2019). Marketing function is all connected by human resource
function. The more employees have attractive marketing skills, the more they will be able to
influence customers towards their product. Employees of Tesco come with innovative aspect of
marketing by providing discounted schemes, offers and other benefits. These function plays
importnant role all together by working with the same targets.
CONCLUSION
The report has concluded that business functions are crucial for business. As these
functions provides direction and strategies to achieve goals and aims into effective manner. All
the function are connected and depended on one another as decision on finance department
regulated to all others by keeping in mind their strategies.
