INTRODUCTION
Business functions is an activity which is conducted by a business organisation to work
smoothly. It perform in an efficient manner for their employees, customers and their shareholders.
The organisation divide their functions into different levels such as marketing, finance, product'
and HRM etc. the company chosen in this report is Mark and Spencer, which is a retailer in
clothing, food and home ware etc. It was established in 1884 by Michael marks and Thomas
Spencer in United Kingdom. This report will include the conept of business's functions and their
roles within the organisation (Liebhard and Pertz, 2022).
Business functions
Every organisation perform various functions to accomplish their goals. The mark and Spencer
should make sure that thy determine the market trend to increase their sales.
Role of finance- It is the main pillar of the organisation, because the success and
performance of a company depend on this finance department. It manage the cash flow and
outflow of a company In context of Mark and Spencer, the finance department play a vital
role at the time of investment and reward to their share holders. It also helps this company
in the situation of business expansion.
Role of production- This department is responsible for manufacturing of the goods. It
may be in the form of machines, employees and other etc. it convert the raw material into
finished goods. It produce and design the product for the customers. in relation of Mark
and Spencer , this department is helpful to meet the increased sales. It is responsible for the
efficient production and make sure that raw materials are being processed.
Role of human resource- This department is tasked with the maximizing workers
productivity and also protect the business from any issues. In context of the Mark and
Spencer, this department make hire talented and skilled workforce. It also make sure that
right employee should be chosen for the vacant post according to their skills (Chai, Duan
and Huo, 2021).

functions to operate their different types of activates. This function include the finance, marketing.
Productions and human resource. These function have an important role within the organisation to
work smoothly and effectively. These are very essential to run the business in efficient manners.
