INTRODUCTION
For running a business successfully, a company concerns on performing each and every
activity more appropriately. It includes human resource management, operations, marketing,
finance, production and more (Ford, 2014). The present report is going to discuss about
importance of these functions and their relationship for executing business operations. For this
purpose, McDonald's is chosen which deals in fast food industry of UK.
TASK

In 21st century, environment of business considered as changes rapidly where, market
demands organisations to offer more innovative and creative products. Therefore, to remain
competitive, it is essential for every company to create synergy. This would help in allowing
different functions of business to share information as well as work in collaborative manner. In
context with McDonald's, as it deals in fast food business, where people always demand to get
healthy and hygienic items to fulfil their desires. In this regard, for deliverable best products and
services, the main functions of this enterprise are performed by- human resource department,
operation management and marketing.
Human resource management of respective company cannot offer good services to
customers without building an effective team of workers (Importance of human resource
management, 2018). Here, through HRM functions, managers of McDonald's used to recruit best
talented employees, provide training to make them familiar with working organisation, give
timely appraisals for their retention and motivate on regular manner. While operation
management process aid McDonald's in making effective plans, organising, coordinating as well
as controlling entire resources in appropriate manner. Through this function, respective company
can effectively manage its important attributes. It includes human resource, equipment,
technologies, information and more (Importance of effective operation management, 2019). This
would help in enhancing quality of products, providing effective services to customers,
increasing revenues and reducing wastages as well. While, marketing function is considered as
another main function which helps in promoting as well as providing timely information, to other
departments for conducting their functions more appropriately. It gives prior information about
demand and preferences of potential customers to McDonald's, develop sustainability of business

by maintaining a healthy relationship with consumers, enhance customer-engagement and more
(Why marketing is so important, 2016). Thus, marketing refers to main strategy of respective
company to ensure successful growth in competitive marketplace.
Every function of a company has its own importance which are somehow interrelated
with each other. For example: Planning function of operation management help in developing
business objectives, bringing and controlling company's resources in optimum manner. While,
human resource management through planning process develop policies to get high performance
of workers for achievement of such objectives and goals. In addition to this, marketing division
enables HRM and operation management in analysing demand of customers and working
accordingly to fulfil the same. In context with management functions of McDonald's, this
franchise business operates functions in individual manner. It runs business in more than 10
countries including approximate 36,000 restaurants (Our Business model, 2019). Therefore, it
uses a matrix structure in business, that gives greater flexibility to maintain flow of instructions
under entire departments properly. Here, each department provides timely information to each
other for providing best services to customers in short-period of time.
CONCLUSION
Through this report, it has concluded that to achieve business objectives and goals, every
function of a company is considered as equally important as others. It includes human resource
management which helps in developing workplace, operational functions that aids in planning
activities and marketing for promoting business in vast place.
