INTRODUCTION
Functions of business are key activities that carried out by a company to achieve set aims
and objectives. They can be distinguished into main functions and support units. The current
study will be based on Morrison’s, which falls under category of well known supermarkets in the
UK. This assignment will explain importance of chosen company business functions who work
together and their role at workplace in context of organization success.
MAIN BODY
Roles of different functions of supermarket
Marketing-
The most important role of this function in company is to conduct market research and
then develop marketing tactics & plan to generate brand awareness at global level (Cortez and
Johnston, 2019). The team of this department is able to conduct detail investigation about current
market trends and to identify buyer needs.
Finance-
Main role of this department is to control and monitor all money related transaction and
actions, which is really very essential to do in regard to Morrison. They allocate amount on the
basis of requirements, after overall inspection at workplace. It helps to analyse needs for finance.
Production-
Role of this function is quite different but important for supermarket, production team is
accountable to transform raw material into finished products that allow company to sell in target
market, where potential and new buyers are seeks to purchase a quality item. Production
department role it to deliver quality goods to customer, without any mistake.
HRM-
Human resource department role is to hire people who have right skills, abilities and
talent to perform within Morrison’s. They can help firm to give tough competition to business

work effectively, which is possible when all above departments work together. For example,

administration as well, to promote vacancies in market where job seekers seek to grab the best
job opportunities. By working together, all functions improve quality of products and enhanced
operational efficiency rather than before. Collaborative practice is significant because it help to
satisfied target market in systematic manner. Also, contribute in achieve set goals and business
objectives.

From above discussion, it has been indentified that marketing, production, finance and
human resource by working together increased productivity of Morrison’s in effective manner.
