INTRODUCTION
An organization comprises of different business functions that work together in order to
help the company achieve its goals as well as objectives in an effective manner. The different
business functions within an organization include finance, marketing, human resources as well as
operations. The respective report will explain the importance of different business functions and
their roles within successful organizations. The same are explained below in context to Lidl
organization -
Marketing – Marketing can be referred to as a set of different activities such as branding,
promotions, sales etc. within the main aim of making the customers aware about the products as
well as services (Goyal and Sharma, 2021). The marketing business function plays an important
role within Lidl such as it promotes the business and serves as the face of the company,
coordinates with the different clients and undertakes market research.
Finance – This is another business function that is a part of financial management and
plays a significant role in the organization. This is because the finance function is responsible for
overlooking as well as managing the funds or finances for different activities. Not only this, it
also manages the taxes and undertakes financial reporting as well as analysis. One of the main
reasons why the finance function is important for Lidl is that it ensures that all financial records
are accurate and that they are kept up to date at all times.
Human Resources – The HR or human resources function plays an important role in the
development, reinforcement as well as change of culture within the workplace of Lidl (Ikram,
Zhang and Sroufe, 2020). The main functions of human resources include performance
management, training and development, recruitment and selection, onboarding, payroll etc. The
HR function ensures that experienced, qualified as well as skilled candidates are hired to carry

plays an important role within the company by planning and implementing various operational
