INTRODUCTION
The business functions of any company implies to the activities that are being conducted
by the person in an area and so as it means that all the important functions of the organisation
which are kept in check so as to maintain the growth. The main function of the company includes
the Human resource, Finance, marketing and many more(Cagle, and et. al., 2020). The company
chosen for this report is Marks and Spencer which is the UK based multinational company deals
in clothing, food products, home products etc. This report will deal with the roles and the
importance of all the business and the functions of M&S with its interrelations.
TASK 1
Role and importance of business functions.
M&S covers out various functions that helps to maintain the growth of the company and
the success in the market which implies as follows:
Marketing covers out the changes and the promotional activities that are being taken
place of the product so as to reach out to the existing customers. All the marketing department
plays a vital role in the M&S as they makes the advertising and attractive methods through
which they reach out to the customers and also further keep check on there competitors so as to
improve the quality and advancement. The importance of it is that M&S make the marketing
plan and various marketing mix that helps to intermediate the strategy of the company and make
the planning framed efficiently.
Finance is the allocation and the management of the funds in the company. The main
role of the is to frame out all the funds and the capital that is being raised for the investments and
also to implement and allocate all the equity funds and the shares of the company. This
department is important as it covers out all the management of funds and providing the budgets
that should be prior sufficient for M&S(Cui, 2017).
Operations this department in M&S tries to maintain all the funding and the resource
a;location with that it undertakes to play a role in which they will maintain all the clothes and the
resources and also provides the training to the employees for there work, all the administration,
staffing,managing implemented in it. The importance of this unit is it organise all the resources

and the products that will attract the customers and maintain them to serve there employees
properly (Macchi, Savino, and Roda, 2020).
Human resource is the important workforce in all the organisation. The HR department
in M&S have the vital role as they recruit the well qualified and efficient staff as for the
requirement of the company. And tit also review all the employees properly before taking them
in the company. The Importance of this unit is it implicates to take the best trained and qualified
staff for M&S(Santos, Mota, and Baptista, 2018). .
Thus all these units plays an important role in the company as it frames out to maintain
the finance, training, marketing of the product and operating of all the function and maintain the
smooth function of the company.
CONCLUSION
It is concluded from the report that, all the departments in the business plays and
important role in maintain the growth of the company. The various unit of M&S plays roles and
manage function with utter importance and tends to make the working smooth. Furthermore all
these are dependent on each other.
