There are various types of organizational structures such as horizontal, matrix and flat
organization structure. Flat organizational structure has limited level of hierarchical and has
open communication channels among management and employees. Advantage: In this
organization structure, innovation is effectively taking place because employees are free to share
their views and create new ideas in the company which helps company to stay competent from
the local market players in term of innovative activities (Different Types of Organizational
Structure, 2019). The major disadvantage of this organization structure is that there has slow
decision-making process due to this company often miss profitable opportunity. Divisional
structure has wide scope in the market as compared functional structure because it has sub-
departments within a larger firm. The major advantage of the structure is that it allows for a high
degree of specialization because each department is responsible for developing specific product
or services. The major limitation of the structure is that it requires wide number of resources to
run number of departments and have the employee productivity at same level in each
department.
Define business functions and their responsibility
There are various functions and responsibility of business such as promotion, selling,
product management, market research, pricing, financing, distribution etc. supports company to
successfully establish it’s brand image in the business market and helps in meeting needs of
customers for the company’s project and services. While there are various responsibilities of
business i.e. maximizes shareholders, values of customers by offering standard quality products
and services to them so that in return it can earn customer’s lifetime loyalty for the brand.
