A student have to face a lot of challenges during academics. To cope up with those
challenges. it is essential to develop appropriate skills (Della Ratta, 2016). In the present report
Sainsbury is taken into consideration that is a groceries and general merchandise retailer having
headquarter UK. It discuss different business functions along with their association with each
other. At the end, it comprises the skills that need to be develop in a graduate to get success.

There are ample of business activities such as Finance, Operations, Marketing, Human
Resources and many more. These functions are crucial and have strong association with each
other in order to achieve organizational goals. In reference of Sainsbury, it carry out several
business operations to increase productivity & outcome. Finance Mangers are responsible to
arrange, allocate and keep efficient control over funds within organization. Marketing is a
significant function that is perform to increase in sales as well as profit margin of company. It
helps to promote the products and services at large level. Further, Human resources management
is essential to ensure high productivity and efficiency of employees by providing them necessary
training (Kiani Mavi and Standing, 2018). It is essential to select as well as retain workforce for
a longer period of time. Operations is one of the most vital activity that is carry out to minimize
defects and maximize productivity of company. It is analysed that there are efficient interrelation
between all these functions. Finance department arrange and provide necessary funds to other
divisions to carry out business operations. Whereas marketing team promote the product band
services to increase in sales and profitability. On the another side HR mangers recruit qualified
and suitable candidates for other divisions. Operations team ensure the higher productivity and
assist to minimize overhead expenses within company. Therefore all the respective divisions are
significant and posses effective association with each other to achieve business goals in
predefined period of time.
