There are a number of internal and external factors in corporate world that gives birth to
challenges for a business. It is necessary that businesses are aware of all these challenges so that
they can carry out their activities swiftly (Carmichael, 2018). Tesco is dealing in retail sector
and is one of the largest supermarket with its headquarter in United Kingdom. The firm has a
number of stores throughout the world. In the following report various functions of business
along with their interlinks is discussed. Also the academic skills required to face challenges for a
undergraduate are mentioned.

There are a number of different functions as well as operations carried out by human
resources present in the organisation (Alosani and et. al., 2020). Tesco have a number of
different functions including finance, HR, operations and so on.
Finance department in organisation is responsible to make budgets for all other
departments and also allot funds to them. Along with it they look for different opportunities to
invest and finance funds from .
The Operation function in Tesco is responsible to look for various ways to improve their
tasks and generate efficiency and productivity within employees. These are applies to human
resources as well.
Human Resource department is responsible to recruit, train and develop employees in
organisation. These employees are recruited for all different departments.
In this way all the departments in Tesco are interrelated to each other (Beneke and et. al.,
2016). All the departments together work and support each other to maximize profits and attain
their objectives.

When taking a students perspective into account it is necessary for them to attain a
number of skills to graduate successfully. There are a number of skills that a student required to
master in while in their graduation period. These include communication skills, listening skills,
reading skills, analytical skills, presentation skills and so on. These are some of the common
skills required by all the students (Dhakal and et. al, 2018). Apart from these there are also some
specific skills that are required by individuals based upon the field in which they are graduating
from. These usually includes the technical knowledge and skills in their respective fields. Along
with all these management skills are required in students such as self-management and time
management all these helps them to easily face the challenges they might face while completing
graduation. Attaining all these skills will help them to make the best of their classes, webinars,
presentations and successfully attain their goals.
