LO1 Importance of Different Business Function
Business functions refers to various activities which are undertaken by the business
organization. These functions include both core activities of business and those which are
undertaken and functioned to support core activities. Some of the business functions are as
follows-
Marketing- These are activities which are undertaken to communicate business and the value
their product provide to customers (Kingsnorth, 2019). These are linked with other functions
as budget for the marketing are provided by finance department and this affect the efficiency
of the organisation marketing and the department of finance is equipped with employees with
the help of HR. In this manner marketing is linked with HR and finance functions of the
organisation.
Production/Operations- These are core activities of business. In this manufacturing
organisations carry out functions of production and those which provide their product in form
of service includes development of services. These are also linked with marketing and HR
(Painter and et.al., 2019). HR have to find and recruit people who can carry out the function of
organisation and finance is responsible for managing all the expense and evaluate results of
those expenses on the operations activities of the organisation.
LO3 Academic Skills and Techniques Necessary to be a successful undergraduate Student
Undergraduate student is the one who has passed and completed secondary education
and have not completed graduation and post graduation (Villarreal and Martinez, 2018). These
students as they have completed their secondary education are required to have some
academic skills so that they can be successful undergraduate students. Such skills are-
Skills of Note-Taking
This refers to writing and documenting important things. For undergraduate students
this is very important that they take note of what is being taught to them in the class and
specially those which are either difficult or very important to remember. This includes that
students know what points are important and highlighting those. Highlighted words easily
catch attention and enable to recall main ideas behind the concept.
Teach others

It is very effective technique as this enables students to understand better and this also
increase retention of students. This includes teaching and making others understand the
concept. In this process students can clear their own doubts and their area of knowledge gets
widen as they teach others.
Time Management
For undergraduate students this is very important that they known effective time management
(Kim and Lundberg, 2016). This includes determination of schedules and study plans time
wise.
