INTRODUCTION
Business functions are very essential in an organization because that will help the
organization to function effective and efficiently. The goods and services which the organization
are providing to the customers are going to match the standards of the organization and the
organization will be able to make a lot of profit. The functions which are involved in business are
marketing, human resource, finance and operations and production.
MAIN BODY
There are different functions in an organization which are marketing, production/
operations, finance and human resource. These functions are very much dependent on each other
so that Unilever can have a better functioning and effective way of working in market.
Marketing
Marketing is the functioning in Unilever which make the products full information reach
the customers from time to time so that they are aware of the products and get attracted.
Marketing functions is success in making Unilever reach their objectives with the help of survey
and research which they are doing (Do, 2016). Marketing is dependent on finance, operations
and human resource because there are a lot of changes which they are making and support from
all the other functions is required.
Finance
Finance functioning are the means of organizing, planning, directing and controlling of
the financial activities which are taking place in company (Finance Functions, 2020). It is very
important for the organization to have a control and monitoring of the financial aspect of
Unilever so that the finance can have a balance for its functioning in organization. Finance has to
provide funds to all the other functioning in Unilever so that they can function smoothly and
make the organization each their objectives and goals.
Production/ Operations
The input converted to outputs in an organization is done by operations and production
and finance is responsible for the production to get their inputs and outputs in stores so that the
customers can receive them (Enoch, 2016). Without production the organization will not be able
to product their products in market and the customers will not be satisfied with the services
which are being given to them.

Human resource in organization have to screen, find, recruit, train and administer
employees. Human resource in Unilever plays a very important role because there are a lot of
changes which are taking place in Unilever and the human resource has to motivate the
employees so that the standards and effectiveness of employees are maintained (The 12 key
functions of Human Resource, 2019). This will help Unilever to achieve their objectives and
goals. Marketing, finance and production and operations come under this training and motivation
control of human resource therefore they all are dependent on one another.
