INTRODUCTION
Background statement
Business environment is a very dynamic term that consist of various management
practice and terminologies as well as various participants. The essay aims to evaluate the cause
and effects of global warming in business environment and how should business implement the
policies to avoid undesirable effects of climate change on organisation. For the better research,
reason and result structure will follow.
Thesis statement
The global warming is an ongoing dispute regarding the effects of individuals and
business on the environment. What are the measures that are imposed by the UK government to
help meet greenhouse gas targets?
MAIN BODY
Climate change can be defined as the change in regional or global climate pattern. In
other words, climate change refers to a broad range of global phenomena that includes the
increased temperature trends that called global warming (Ladkin and Kichuk, 2017). It is the real
temperature that have been going up around the world for many decades.
Cause
A research shown that main cause of the climate change and high temperature is human
expansion of the greenhouse effect. The main cause of the climate change and global warming
are divided in two categories that includes; human influences and natural.
The first cause of climate change is greenhouse gases such as; chloro fluoro carbons,
nitrous oxide, carbon dioxide, methane, etc. that are mainly increasing in the environment by
human activities. Also, the manufacturing industries use fossil fuel for the industrial activities is
the biggest reason of climate change (Rothwell and et. al., 2015). Due to deforestation, rapid
increase in human population, effect of green house gases, etc. global warming is increasing and
that result in dynamic climate change that affect the society, businesses and individuals in the
world.

Effects
As, the climate changes, all sectors of UK businesses will be faced with preparing a range
of new threats and opportunities. Unpredictable weather can have direct or indirect impact on the
organisations.
From the two, the very first effect of the climate change is public perception. In today's
business climate, it is not enough to offer a good product or service. Consumers are more likely
to know where the business is stand (Riahi and et. al., 2017). Consumer will want to see green
credentials up-front of the organisations. In another way, Climate change will affect the people
as it influences behaviour and lifestyle. That force the company to respond in various ways and
make changes in their decisions of the operations.
Climate change has an effect on the business logistics that includes; utilities, supply
chains and transport that can be disrupted by extreme weather events. Those organisations that
are heavily relies on transport networks, resources will be particularly vulnerable. Overall,
climate change has potential impact on markets, logistics, process, finance, people and premises
of an organisation.
According to the statistics, it has been evaluated that the average increase in temperature
in the last century is 0.7°C and sea level by 10 cm. In 2008, UK government introduced a law
named as, Climate Change Act 2008 (Climate Change Act 2008, 2019). It mainly focuses on the
emission of carbon dioxide and reducing greenhouse gases. Through this act, UK government
has set a target to significantly reduce greenhouse emission by 2050 and develop a path to get
there. But UK government can aware all the business with the act and make it essential to follow
the policies that is mentioned in the law.
By 2050, the act commits the government to reduce the gas by at least 80% of 1990
levels by 2050. The government is providing support to industrial operations and businesses to
successfully reduce their carbon footprint in various ways. The carbon trust can provide an
assistance to the industries that promoting the reduction of carbon foot print.
For imposing the target, UK government need to take strict actions that is not only
important from the business perspectives but it is also important from the world's perspective.
They can make a strict plan for involving the act in the company laws and reducing the
percentage of greenhouses in UK that automatically reduce the gas level (The Green Agenda,
2019).

CONCLUSION
From the present essay it has been evaluated that change in climate have major impact on
human health as well as on the organisation. The reason of the climate change and global
warming are people who lives in society and business, both are responsible for climate change.
Most of the organisation is moving towards in their operation with the green agenda that
supports the environment and help them to reduce greenhouse gas.

The chosen career is guest experience executive in hospitality industry. The reason to
select the career is that hospitality requires a person to work in a multi-cultural environment that
helps individual to grow the future in effective manner (Ladkin and Kichuk, 2017). The other
reason to select the career in hotels to improve and manage the experience of consumers is due to
it is most fun and relaxing career path. As a result, more career advancement opportunity cause
the high interest in hospitality industry. Reason to planning the future career is essential as it
uncovers hidden potential of individuals in the specific interest area and knowing the goals and
values help in to find a perfect job that matches individuals interest and will help in future to
achieve the goal. The work of Guest experience executive is quite interesting and hospitality
teaches the importance of team work, opens the mind of individuals to other culture and ideas
and teaches the values of tolerance and respect that is the reason to chose the career planning in
specific area (Rothwell and et. al., 2015). The position of customer experience executive in

hospitality industry have opportunity to grow very quickly, for example; individual is entered at
entry level the training and personal experience will allow them to get promotion if they
effectively plan the career with the help of management and furthermore, work accordingly in
effective manner.
Effect
There are many factors that affect the chosen career path such as; internal and external
factors. The first effect on the career planning is digital marketing. It makes the path of chosen
career easier and in future digital marketing will be an essential part of Guest experience
executive as it will help individual to identify the needs of customers easily and make them able
to receive feedback that ensure the improvement in the services. It will help the individual to
enhance their knowledge and skills as per the job role requirement.Therefore, career in
hospitality industry has opportunity to being creative and individual get privilege to meet and
greet new people in the industry.
Role of HR department is responsible for making the job description of the chosen career
that will help in understanding what are the roles that will need to perform. Along with it, the
department identify any requirement of training of individual and provide them for effective
operation (Spurk and et. al., 2015).
Legal department of the hospitality industry set the legal policies that outlines the role of
the guest experience executive to prevent any legal issues regarding consumer privacy.
The hospitality industry covers all the area ranging from food service to accommodation
to health and fitness, bars, clubs (Why Hospitality Jobs Are Great, 2019). The career planning
affect the future professional life of the individual in a positive and result-oriented manner. The
individual can get decent salary in the position of guest experience executive, it varies as per the
area and type of hospitality industry. Around 2.5 million people in UK are planning their career
in hospitality industries. In the UK, there are more than 45,000 hotels and guests houses and
around 226000 eating out outlets. The UK tourism industry generates around £130 billion per
year that attracts the youth and all the people towards making their career in hospitality industry.
All the areas in hospitality industries are likely to hire person to tackle the experience of
consumers that enhance the demand of the position.
The salary, growth and personal development level influence a person in planning their
career (Althor, Watson and Fuller, 2016). As per the statistics and facts of the advantages,

executives are also increasing by the 15% in compare to last year. Digital marketing had effect
on chosen career as well as in future position.
