INTRODUCTION
Business resources plays a vital role in growth and success of every business associations
which supports to run its activities and tasks in the best possible manner. It is known as factors of
production, consists of land and labour with capital and enterprise. It is essential for managers to
be aware while allocating resources at workplace. BBC is the chosen organisation in this present
assignment, its a British public service Broadcaster which provides broadcasting services over
the world (Brown and Seidner, 2012). There is more than 22000 employees are presently
working with BBC and the overall revenue of the firm is £4.954 billion. Apart from this, the
report is going to be described various types of business information and its purpose. There will
be defined process of corporate communications and legal, ethical and operational issues are also
discussed which can occurred while using business information. Furthermore, the report will also
enlighten electronic and non-electronic communication methods.
TASK
P1 Different types of business information and explain their purpose
Business information is one the important segment of information industry. It comes in
form of general surveys, articles, references, data, search engines and so on to which a business
can use for planning, operation as well as evaluation of working activities. Although, effective
business information helps in gaining better information of internal and external environment of
the firm so as to develop effective strategies and policies. In addition to this, it also improve
decision making process of the firm. The main objective of BBC is to deliver best information to
people as they always up to data with various activities which are occurring across the world.
Although, business information can be gathered through adequate communication at workplace
as well as external environment of the firm (Cox and Jantti, 2012).
Following is defined two main types of business information and its sources: -
Verbal communication – This kind of communication occurs while someone speaks.
Usually, verbal communication can be used in face to face conversations as well as can be done
through telephonic & webcam conversations. Communication between staff members of BBC
and customers is also come under verbal communication. The main sources of verbal
communication involves – customers' employees' meetings, presentations, briefings and tannoy
announcements; it also entails interaction with suppliers, top management and so on.

Written - It occurs when information is presented in written form, such as – paper based
or computer. In order to make written communication, companies can use leaflets, emails,
brochures, newspapers etc. It provides an evidence to organisation what has taken place and can
be used to be referred back if required. BBC uses written communication at the time of
advertising and promoting. It also utilise while responding towards customers' complaints or
queries and employees grievances.
On-screen & multimedia – In on screen method information is presented on screens like
– television, laptops, computers and tablets. Behind this the main reason is several hackers
occupy the privacy of others and sometimes it get misused. Different large business entities, like
– BBC does not put security on their websites thus concern may relate with fraud, danger, crime
and so on; this will put a huge impact on customers.
Purpose of business information: - The main purpose of business communication is to easily
access the area to which they want to explore for instant- queries regarding access contact page
of the BBC. Another purpose is to keep up to date official website of the company and make
customers aware regrading future developments of BBC (Eriksson and Kovalainen, 2015). Apart

statements which are only visible to shareholders.

authorities. In this, people can only reach to information while getting written
information through public authorities.
Computer Misuse Act: The law was set in order to prevent adverse action of hackers
