Introduction
Implementation of technology components in the restaurant will be very helpful for the
restaurant. In the body of the report a detailed analysis of the various components of technology
will be discussed along with their uses and proper implementation. A recommendation will be
put in the end for the restaurant.
Four information technology components
The four main information technology component which can be used in the restaurant
are:
Computer hardware and software: The various peripheral devices which are associated
for the computer needs to be purchased by the restaurant. Hardware includes the
Keyboards, disk drives, Routers for internet connections. The software which needs to
be present in the computers are for handling spreadsheets and also for creation of
document.
Telecommunications: All the hardware of the computer system will be connected by the
help of the telecommunications. The Ethernet cables and Fibers needs to be purchased
by the company to connect the various hardware parts together (Dasari, Kumar &
Suresh, 2014). A LAN needs to be created in the restaurant office to ease the collection
of data on the computer.
Databases and Warehouses of data: In the databases the various data collected will be
stored for future purpose. The database is capable of storing huge amounts of data in a
specific manner.
Presence of human resources: One of the major components of the presence of
information technology in the restaurant is that there must be presence of employees
who can use the system. Without the presence of human components the computer
cannot be used.
Implementation of technology components in the organization
For implementing technology in an organization the company must ensure that it can
adequately train its employees. With the implementation of new changes in the system a
company must ensure that the employees of the company are fully aware of the various process
by the aid of which the existing employee of the company will be bought onboard (Abuelmaatti &
Ahmed, 2014). There must be clear communication between the employees of the company
and the leaders. A proper trainer needs to be hired by the company to ensure that the company

will be able to make the employees of the company understand about the various process by
the help of which the employees of the company will be able to use the new technology in the
workplace. The managers of the company might implement some sessions in which the roles of
the employees will be explained in a proper manner. A clear communication with the employees
of the company must be done by the company so that the change process in the workplace can
be implemented in a proper way (Wong, Ignatius & Soh, 2014).
Different kinds of computer-based information systems
Some of the different types of computer based information system are as follows:
Transaction processing system: This system is implemented in an organization to keep
record and track the various data which can be accessed later in a easier way.
Transaction process is a major activity of organizations all around the world. Some of the
common transaction process are placing order of items, bills of customers and hiring
employees for the company (Rainer, Prince & Watson, 2014).
Management Information system: The various policy makings, management and
planning in the organizations are controlled by management information system (Celik &
Magoulas, 2016).
Decision support system: The predictable decision system can be provided to the
company by the help of decision making system. These system aid the managers of the
organizations in making decisions in regular intervals (Ciborra & Lanzara, 2017).
Office automation system: This system is an emerging method which is slowly taking
over the various functioning in the information technology in organizations. This system
increase the productivity of the employees in the company and also aids the typists, staff
professionals and many other associated with the organization (Njoroge, 2014).
Recommendation
The first three system which must be given priority by Kylie are:
Transaction processing system: With the help of this Kylie will be able to keep record of
the various sales of the company and this will be a much efficient process over manual
record keeping. The record keeping application in this processing system will be very
helpful for Kylie as she will now be able to take care of the business in a proper way and
spend more time in looking the other aspects of the restaurants.
Management information system: With the help of this Kylie will be able to take proper
decisions regarding the restaurants. The various inputs which will be taken by Kylie can

be helped by the management information system. This will be very helpful for Kylie
since the restaurant needs various changes in the system like changes in the inventory

Decision support system: With the implementation of this process Kylie will be able to
take certain decisions in a proper way. Under situations when critical decisions needs to
be taken then Kylie can make use of decision support system. The judgments which will
be taken by Kylie under certain circumstances will be helped by the decision making
information system in the restaurant.
Conclusion
To conclude it can be said that Kylie will be very much helpful with the implementation of
the various process which have been explained in the recommendation part of the report. The
scope of the company is huge and it will be able to expand with the implementation of
technology in the daily function of the restaurant.
