INTRODUCTION
In recent trend IT has plays a major role in business world and it is a very challenging for
traditional practices to survive in current business environmemt.IT has enhances the
communication of organization in both inside and outside world. This has helped them in
information gathering, surveys, planning, communication and setting goals in a better way.
Implementing IT in retail sector has helped in monitoring and analyzing demands, supply,
growth opportunity and budgeting which were not possible due of lack of communication. The
prospects of consumer demands and consumer retentions can also be seen with advancement of
IT which can be achieved by adding values to products and services.
PI Use of IT in different function of an organization :-
IT plays a very crucial part in carrying out business activity very securely, productively and in
effectual way IT also have major role in easing out functioning of different business of an
organization, IT is considered as a very productive measure for reduction of time and
minimization of cost.
Important function of it in an organization
Planning- For achieving business objectives and building strong competitive
advantages senior members of business executives and IT team make certain strategies
which are productive and less time consuming , for this they customize software and
other requirements needed by business departments . They also insure the adequate level
of resources are available to them to cope up with changing market demands. Also
analyze options like outsourcing management and infrastructure for increasing
responsiveness and flexibility.
Network- It is one of the key feature of information technology, traditionally in
Jhonson supermarket company it was very difficult to gain information from different
stores but installing IT based system will help in connecting all 3 computers of different
stores in an internet protocol network which helps in accessing data when required in a
very cogent which will make monitoring work very easy , apart from connecting the 3
computers they can multiply usage of computer of different departments which will make

their working easier . Through this they can also have features of supply chain
management, retain management and stocks and inventory monitoring.
Data handling Previously company is using computer hardware for storing
information and they were in separated computers in different locations so it was very
difficult for owners to access and observe financial statements and have difficulty in
sales control as well as it lacks transparency and responsibility ,but with evolution of
artificial intelligence it has become feasible and effective in storing data in cloud ,through
cloud computing one can access required information anytime . This also facilitate to link
different departmental activities like supply chain, finance, sales and marketing.
Support- IT helps in all measures including networking facilities or software
installation or a training practice. It helps in enhancing skills and knowledge of employee
by providing certain information related to task and resource management .
Security- Other important aspect of IT is, with advancement in sector , it has
become an important part to secure data and confidential information. IT provides
solution for protecting against sneakers like viruses, malwares, and cybercriminals. The
unauthorized entry can steal or corrupt data which can hamper business activities of
organization.
IT plays a vital role in defined and undefined manner in an organization. In current trend it is a
solution for easing out complex activities and its monitoring as well as protecting owner from
different types of breaches and risk as well as making work more effective.

strategies. The personalization strategies transfer tactical knowledge from one individual

Explicit knowledge management requires investment in IT in the form of extracting
knowledge from expert, problem solving methods, organizational procedure and policies
etc.
Customer relationship management :- It is a process by which companies make
relationships with customers. They do so by interaction with potent and current customers. Key
element of customer relationship management is retention of customers and increasing sales
growth(R., Coelho). One must analyze the type of market where they are about to invest, analyze
type of customer and their demands and ultimately plan sales practices in that
market(McDougall-Covin), under CRM the prospect must be to sustain in that market for longer
period of time rather than making quick bucks and for an effective chain of customers .IT helps
in analyzing sales practices or by questionnaires the can analyze minds of people and make a
formal report of understanding that market.
Data management :- Management of data means the whole reporting of
functioning of data. It must be securely stored and can be easily extracted and observer
with allowed accesses. . The traditional hardware storages are out of trend as new system
of cloud storage has help to store bulk of data securely. This easy transfer of data will
help organization to transfer of information in quick and effective manner.
Communication- It solution helps in making communication process faster

supermarket .they can easily put all the computer through a same network using intranet
and can use internet for observing changes in market . As we discussed by using
business software like ERP (enterprise resource planning) will help them to combine all
details related to sales, finance, inventory, and employee. Under one software. which will
help monitoring of the organization in very efficient way. It solution is a one-time
investment process i.e. hence it will be accost effective in longer run. IT has eased in
complicated analytical surveys and generates accurate observation which helps in better
resource planning.
