Question 1
According to the CEO of the company, they are not able to work as one organization. Sandy
gave technology based words to his opinion when he said that the organization is not
integrated and the second problem was connected with the standardization of the outputs.
This is also visible in the case of the reports taken from CMOC (James D McKeen, 2015a,
p333). The presence of antiquated MASS is another area, although in the present case study
CEO never expressed the technicalities of the issue, however, Sandy’s diagnostic of the
problems gives us an idea that what types of the shortcomings he was referring to when he
said that “ we need to work like one business.” Dynamic data exchange between applications
and ports should be facilitated in such type of big organizations. Although the CEO was not
able to put it in the technical terms, however the essence of these non-technical elements can
be understood with the help of his initial statements.
Question 2
The Company should take the services of an expensive consultant like Sandy for many
reasons. This company has a long history associated with it, Sandy’s concerns related to the
standardization and integration of the operations can bring in great results for the company in
the future. Here we should not look this exercise as a replacement of CMOC or MASS alone
(James D McKeen, 2015b, p333). A replacement of CMOC or MASS is a previous
generation solution. This exercise should have a broader spectrum attached to it. For instance,
the previous databases of the company should be translated into present day languages and
after feeding them in an integrated system they should be attached to a big data facility so
that the organization can take the benefits in the terms of organizational decision making and
inventory management. The CEO wants his organization to act as one organization; here the
cloud computing and virtual office can hold the key (James D McKeen, 2015c, p334)..

Running Head:
In the broader terms we can also say that it is an exercise where a well-coordinated change
management program is needed. It is true that we need to hire the expertise of various
different types of experts in the job, however a consultant like Sandy can play the role of the
coordinator after studying the past records and future ambitions of the organization.
Question Three
An integrated system like SAP has the potential to support the inventory management of the
organization quite effectively. On the note of the strategy we can first integrate all the
divisions of the company under a single system with an intention to develop a communication
protocol. After fixing a protocol in the next step we are required to come up with data entry
ports and the conversion of the data inside the system in accordance with the communication
protocols. The formation of the data channels, processing and storage area for the reports and
access protocols should be developed in the next step (James D McKeen, 2015d, p263). The
interaction of the system with the external channels is another issue where Sandy has to take
some notes based on the privacy and confidentiality needs. SAP as package has all the
capacities to handle the flow of the data in big organizations like these. It has the competency
to accommodate the old knowledge pool with the latest pool of knowledge.
