INTRODUCTION
This report is about the Business Intelligence for the charitable group. It is the group which is
based on the college. Charitable group is thinking for organizing the charitable function for
the collection of the funds for the charity. This report is created for understanding the role of
the business intelligence for organizing the event for the fundraiser. We will also see the
supporting process and the business process of the charitable trust, the basic difference
between the semi-structured and unstructured data of the charitable trust. The techniques and
the tool involved in the business process and along with the key features of the BI.

Business processes:
These are the combination of steps as well as processes which are employed by the
organization in order to achieve its targeted crowd with respect to its position in society.
These process steps are optimized and then reused in different modes by various users and at
a repetition rate of use. These steps can be of two forms; manual and automated, for example,
manufacturing is a business process which can be either automated or manual as well based
upon the nature of the charitable work. The automated process is used more often due to the
accuracy it possesses. A business process can be visualized in the form of flowcharts and
representation of the workflow in logical steps. Types of business processes are like
manufacturing, finance, health, banking, travel, defense, HR (Human Resource), Public
Sector, compliance (Appian, 2018).
A charitable trust within the college is to be examined. The processes involved are:
Manufacturing: it includes the production of flyers and banners supporting the cause
for charity and also to attract more and more members on and off campus.
Finance is the second process which involves the management of earned capital and
invested capital along with the credit responsibility for the organization.
Health measures are conducted in order to maintain a health conscious society with
regular health check-ups to make a better and healthy college environment.
Banking evolves from finance only wherein it evaluates the members and the donors
on-board and the credibility (usually occurs within a company charitable trusts do not
take credit from any bank or individual as they receive a donation) of the
organization.
Travel covers the management of the expenses that the organization bears from the
trips conducted in relation to the promotion of the event.
HR is a very important part of the organization as it checks the arrival and departure
of new and former members respectively.
To maintain the reputation of the organization safety audits and legal audits are to be
conducted which must be compulsory as legal audits make it approachable for the
government to donate in the trust funds.

Supporting processes: These are the processes which support the day to day operations of
any organization supporting its cause after event or campaign launch. These processes
include the promotion of the event and the charitable trust along with proper maintainability
of the members once they join the charitable group (Features and Conrad, 2018). These
processes include:
Accounting: It is the backhand help which is provided to the organization so that the
everyday transactions can be assessed. It is comprised of the maintained transit
records of the events’ collection along with the month-long records.
Communications: It is the process which regulates the flow of information to the
target without being compromised and also maintains the authenticity of the
information.
Maintenance: It covers the coverage of promised event along with providing the
members (year-long members) with a concession on the ticket prices of the event.

Sales: This department handles the frequency of the event’s reach to the targeted
crowd. It also makes sure the sale of a less popular event by the means of better
communication with the user. Sales enhance the acknowledgment of the event among
the crowd.

Decision-making:
It occurs on various levels within an organization such as; Decision made by a leader, group
of members of the charity group, management teams or individual who decide the best
outcome along with an easy to reach event and an awareness campaign. It is basically a
process which includes the decisions to enhance and increase the overall performance of the
organization. The decisions are well evaluated keeping in mind all the criteria that might lead
to the improper functioning of the charity group. All the decisions are taken after the
elimination of the faults and introduction of the optimized system which became a necessity
for the old system (NT, 2018). Decisions can be taken to even improve the crowd responses
after they attend the event, crowd responses may be helpful for gathering new members on
and off campus.
Types of support in decision-making:
The support for decision making can be provided in many ways ranging from informal to
formal mode of communication. For example, in an organization, the support can be provided
by a senior member in form of experience regarding the functioning of the system. Junior
members can support by providing help to find information related to different options in the
field and regarding the better reach of the events conducted by the group. This
communication is termed as an informal mode of support. On a formal basis, the authority
can pass an act which abides the students to provide support in the decision making
procedure. Support can also be provided on the basis of crowd experience shown after they
attend events related to charity (OLAP, 2018). Committees can be formed with only one
focus in mind which is to enhance the productivity and the reach of the event conducted by
the organization. These persons are invited to join and focus on the decisions which are
necessary for the organization to eliminate deficiencies within the event management of the
organization. Some decisions are made by heads of the organization with some informal help
from the experienced and talented planners who have organized an event in the past. The
decision can be taken by the leader in order to support the noble cause leading to charity and
also providing different schemes to increase the reach of the crowd.

Business intelligence functionality:
It is the process which is completely driven by the technology used to analyze the collected
data and then presents actionable information to help the analysts make a better decision
based on the analysis.
There are four key features of Business Intelligence:
1. Executive dashboards: These dashboards are personalized to convey germane and
easy to understand real-data type to the organizers to allow them to enhance their
decision making with decreasing the responding time towards on and off campus
events. The chief organizer requires a summarised form of the event on a regular
basis. The organizer can make decisions quickly by the use of personalized
dashboards.
2. Location Intelligence: It is used for mapping and visualization. The visual data-sets
are based on 3-D elements which allow the group to understand their event
management keeping new perspectives in mind.
3. Interactive reports: These reports are helpful to users when it comes to converting
data into knowledge. It allows the user to understand analysis of data in a better way
by means of reports. This better understanding of core data which acts as the basis of
these reports helps the user to take result-oriented decisions (Tekli, 2016).

4. ‘What if’ analysis: This analysis helps the users to create a scenario related to the
event without actually organizing any event. By using existing data the organizers can
make strategies to attain targeted crowd.
Fundamental considerations for key features of BI functionality to work properly:
Cloud: The BI functionality should be available in the cloud to provide fine
functionality to the users.
Customizable: The customization feature let the users to create a better interactive
interface along with an easy understanding of analysis.
Adaptive: The BI should be adaptive based on the deductions made, taking earlier
recorded data as a basis. It should be illustrative for users and should provide a user-
friendly interaction by assessing the day to day changes and automatically adapting to
them.
Mobile promptness: The BI functionality should possess mobile availability. It has
to be accessible on mobile devices (Tsirogiannis, et.al, 2017).

Business intelligence:
It is a technology-driven process which is helpful in analyzing the statistical data provided to
the tool. The data is comprised of all the statistics related to new members and the funds
received in form of donations. This process is called business intelligence as with the use of
Microsoft EXCEL it creates a survey as well as calculates the growth in the number of
members and decrement as well. BI provides a wide variety of tools and applications which
allow the user to collect data from on and off campus based on the survey. After that, the
collected data is organized in order to form a format of data which can be further analyzed.
The analysis is followed by the development of collected data and dissolving the queries
against the data (Larson, 2016). The tool can be used to create final reports and visualize the
data to avail the analytical results for the operational workers. It also includes an automated
form of monitoring and alert system in case of malfunctioning. It includes some benefits such
as; accelerating and improving decision-making, optimization of operations along with
increasing the operational efficiency of the system. It also includes earlier saved information
regarding the past members and events. It also helps in establishing a comparison between
past and current events.
The use of Excel is helpful in creating a proper format list of the 500 people attending the
event and the intelligent system tool helps us to separate the discounted tickets from the ones
which will be sold at the marked price. It also helps us to create a survey of the members
joining with the ones joined in previous campaigns. It also helps in managing the accounts of
the charity group by creating an accounted form of the current usage of the capital.
Microsoft Excel provides the best formatting as tables and formatted flowcharts which can be
employed to prepare statistics for the list of the new members and the funds along with
capital collected by charging the event. This list can be used to analyze the data to remove
hardships arising with the commencement of the event.

The business intelligence tool is a very important tool for data collection and it also helps the
charitable trust in their decision making procedure. The business intelligence is the nothing
but the collection of various types of tools & process that used to help the charitable group to
keep all the data at a place in an organized way (NT, 2016). The data that are stored by the
business intelligence tool used to produce meaningful data that are used for planning strategy
for the future. The Charity group uses the data that is provided the business intelligence tool
they are used by the charity group formulation of their profit-making strategy and an entire
valuable decision is made with the help of this business intelligence valuable data. In this
assignment we use the MS Excel as the business intelligence tool it is a very famous tool for
collecting data by using the data which are stored in the business intelligence tool they are
used for producing the charts and graphs. This charts & graph are easily understood by any
nontechnical person. The MS Excel as a business intelligence tool its features are explained
below:
1. Sorting of data: The data are stored in the MS Excel they are arranged in the rows
and column. The data of charity group get stored in these rows and column and the
MS Excel have features that we are able to sort data easily.
2. Data Analysis: The charity group data that are stored in the MS Excel they get
analysis very easily with the help of a business intelligence tool.
3. Data Visualization: The charity group used to store the data in the MS Excel data are
then visualized with the help of this data the graphs and charts are getting generated
with help of a business intelligence tool.
4. Data collection: The data collection becomes very much easy with help of MS Excel
tool. A large amount of data is getting stored in the MS Excel sheet. The data are
