intelligence system that will help in the management of its employees, inventories and its
customers from different parts of the world. T&T Inc offers travel services and Logistic services
to its customers. The proposed solution will help in the management and monitoring and
performing system evaluation on how the company is progressing.
Travel and Transport Inc proposed system will use the artificial intelligence to analyze the data
and produce the results. Most of the reports obtain from this system are presented on the
dashboard in the form of graphical analysis. The graphs are generated from the data inserted into
the system.
The business intelligence system will have a centralized database management system where all
the data belonging to the customers are stored. The data storage is done by use of dedicated
servers which are cloud-based. Also, backup system uses cloud-based application which makes
the data stay secure within the database management system. (Conboy, 2009).
Introduction
This report describes the business intelligence system. The system was proposed so that the
system can be automated to use artificial intelligence while generating the daily reports. The
proposed solution is designed so that it can be able to use the already available data to predict
about the future market trends.
The business intelligent system will display the data analytics report on the dashboard and
represents them in the form of graphical analysis. The data analytics will help the company
owners or the CEO to make relevant decision as per the trends produced from the past reports
and data.
The Purpose of the Report
The main reason why this report was generated is because there need that T & T will have to
develop a business intelligence system in which customers can perform a self-service over the
portal. The system will automatically use the collected data to generate different kinds of reports.
The system will be focusing on producing the reports about the trends the company’s progress in
its market strategies. The proposed solution is going to assist the company in terms of data
management and employee management.

Literature Review
The literature review of this report is that documentaries based on the existing systems that are
actively working at the moment were referred to. The researchers have used various
documentaries to collect the relevant information regarding the idea. Also, online research was
done basically on the articles related to system design and analysis and artificial intelligence
systems. Online library resources were reviewed and the needful information regarding this
project were obtained such that they are taken for analysis and the results are used to make the
decisions.
Also, bench making was also used to source information needed for developing this project. Site
visits were carried out to areas where the system is already working. The researchers asks all
about what happens until the project is working while taking notes about all the requirements and
the process to be undertaken. More than three companies with similar ideas were visited and the
report was generated to provide data and the researchers will be able to estimate the budget for
undertaking the whole project.
Methodology
Research Methodology
Quantitative research was will be undertaken to ensure that the data collected will be relevant
and suitable for this project. The project team members will focus on producing the most
accurate results by collecting the relevant data and analyzing them accordingly. The data
collected during the research development will be kept secured such that no data will be
modified hence will affect the overall results.
The following are some of the methods that are used to collect the data while carrying out the
research process. They include;
1. Constructing questionnaires: questionnaires are constructed and these include both the
open ended and close ended questionnaires. These questions will be answered as is
stipulated on the paper and the respondent will answer as he or she wished to make a
comment.
2. Using direct observations: project team will be send out to go and benchmark the already
working business intelligence systems from the companies who have already
implemented the idea. The observers will record the data and take them to be discussed
and analyzed.
3. Conducting interviews: direct questions are set and the respondent is ask to answer
directly by the word of mouth. The interviewer will record all the information on the

notebooks and the report will be generated from the records the researcher had
undertaken.
4. Experimental setups: To perform this project successfully the organization may decide to
do it practically using the pilot process to see how the system works. If the process is
successful, the programmers is allowed to progress with the development process to
come up with a powerful business intelligence system
System Development Life Cycle
This project will take up to six months to be completed. The project is done following a series of
steps which include the following seven stages; Planning phase, System analysis and
Requirements stage, Design stage, Coding stage, implementation stage, integration and testing
and Operations and maintenance stage.
Planning phase: in this phase of the business intelligence to be performed by the T&T Inc, the
problem needs to be identified and defined. The problem is taken for a discussion and the team
members will find ways of providing it with a solution. As for this report, the organization is to
design an automated business intelligence that will serve to replace the manual system where the
customers will have to make bookings using mobile phones and writing emails to the company.
This method is very tiring and does not seem to offer quick services delivery by the T&T Inc.
eTTek is the online application that will help to solve the issue the manual system
System analysis and Requirements: the system requirements are collected and the data which
was collected by the researchers are then taken for the discussion to be analyzed by the experts.
The results which were produced by the researchers are then used to provide good decision for
developing the proposed business intelligence system. All the requirements were noted and set
them ready for the start of the new project.
Design stage: in the design stage of the T&T Inc, the flow layout of information was established
and they were presented in the form of data flow diagrams. The flow layout follows the
organizational structure where the company is supposed to follow a specific hierarchy while
presenting the reports and other stuff.
The coding stage: this is the stage where the programmers is constructing the actual system
using various programming languages to produce the best out of it. The programmer at this stage
perform the coding process as well as the unit testing to ensure that a highly quality and secure
system is produced at the end of the project.
Implementation Stage: after the coding is complete the project is now ready for deployment to
be utilize by the system users which include; the customers, employees and the system admins.
eTTek will serve to provide both the customers service relationship management as well as the
inventory management system. The system will be hosted on dedicated service and the backup
storage will be connected together so that the backup services will be considered secure. eTTek
will allow the users to use the internet to access all the services offered by T&T Inc.
Integration and Testing: system testing will have to be done so as to ensure that there are no
bugs present within the T&T Inc online information management system. System testing is

vigorously done to help the company know that the system is really secured and does not
disclose privacy data to online attackers or hackers. The system testing processes will be done by
testing experts.
Operations and Maintenance: for its sustainability the system will be regularly maintained by
the experts. Maintenance is carried out on the regularly basis to ensure that the T&T Inc
Business Intelligence system is kept up to date. When new features are required to be added, the
programmer will do an upgrade so that the required and necessary features will be added.
Results and Discussion
Management information system
The outcome of this report is to have a complex management system that can be used to carry
out evaluation of all the company employees, the customers and the inventories belonging to the
company. The online management system will allow users to perform specific roles as assigned
by the admin. The roles were designed so that confusion can be avoided by the management
when it comes to process and transaction handling. There are three types of users who uses the
eTTek online management system. They include the following; (Steinke, Al-Deen, & LaBrie,
2018)
1. Admin: the admin is the registered user in the eTTek online management system and has
the role of updating system database management system. The admin can also add or
remove anyone within the system and can assist in providing the users with the additional
roles within the system. The details stored in the system database for the admin includes;
Name, the role of the admin, the address and the location.
2. Customers: customers are the system users who viewed whatever is offered by the
company. The customers can perform the following duties within the system which
include the following; rating the services offered by T&T Inc, updating the data details
within the system and making orders within the system. Customers can also make their
secure payments within the system for whatever they have ordered for. It will be the role
of the company to distribute and deliver what has been ordered to its customers.
3. Employees: the employees are part of the system users since they are the one ensuring
that the online management system developed by the T&T Inc has achieved what is
supposed to perform in offering services to the company. The employees are allowed to
access all the orders that have been done by the customer for approval and shipment
Management Information system GUI
The system developed offers a very user friendly interface where the customers can use them
without struggling too much to learn. The system offers a self-guiding platform where users can
perform their task without the need of an expert personnel. The system is easy to use and the
client can only search from the application URL and can be able to access and make payments
online by just clicking on some very few buttons.

System user interface offers an easy to read and understand platform as it can represent the
reports both in its graphical formats or tabular formats. This will make it easier for the readers to
read and analyze the results since the output is from the internally stored data in the DBMS.
Gender-based analysis report
The below image is the dashboards taken from the developed system. The system uses the
internally presented data that are stored in the database to generate the above easy to read graphs.
This means that the system can study the data in the DBMS and generates the reports in the form
of graphical analysis.
Hospitality Dashboard
As shown in the diagram below presents the metering capabilities of the system itself. The
system can be able to perform the data analytics showing the trends on the activities being
undertaken within the T&T Business Intelligence system. The system will be able to show the
graphical analyses of the daily distribution in the logistics department and the bookings that are
registered in a day. Also the system will be able to indicate the location distributions within the
system to identify and tell the system which side have not been filled in the system.
The system is able to perform the calculations and displays the balances that are still available
and need to be booked by the customers. This dashboard show the hospitality dashboard in
Document Page
which the system can be shown all the available orders and the bookings that have not been
made. The customers can view all these in the form of a graphical interfaces.
The dashboard also is set to display the net income that is generated from the bookings incurred
by the company. These includes all the payments that have been made online by the customers
during the booking process. The monthly metrics of the auto generated operational cost incurred
by T&T Inc.
Integration with other applications
The business intelligence system can be integrated with other application systems so that they
can be able to communicate together and perform certain functions. The integration process can
be achieved through the use of APIs. The applications which can be integrated together with the
eTTek includes the social media sites such as twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Telegram. The
reason why there is need for the integration with these social media sites is because of the
marketing plans that can be achieved through online. This is because by so doing, many people
can be reached out and can become the most active customers within the organization (Akbar,
Sang, Khan, Shafiq, Hussain, & Xiang, 2017).
As shown in the below image, the system is capable of creating filters which will help the system
users to only analyze what is required in that moment. The user can generate queries from the

data entered into the centralized database to retrieve only the needed data for analysis report. The
report analysis below shows both the selected queries from the database and the regional output
in the marketing sections. It shows the progressive reports in the form of percentages as per the
regions.
Infrastructure and System Evaluation
The system developed is an online platform which will be used by customers to make orders.
The main work of this system is to ensure that the customer can make its orders wherever they
are as long as they are connected to the internet. Therefore, internet is the most important
component in this process. T&T Inc management will have to collaborate with the ISP providers
so that they can allocate the bandwidth for them so that the servers can remain available
throughout even during the night. The internet that is supposed to be secured by the organization
is supposed to be more than 10mbps. This is because T&T Inc is dealing with large amount of
data and requires a very high speed network for the transmission and retrieval of data from the
servers. (Al-Zewairi, Biltawi, Etaiwi, & Shaout, 2017).
System Requirements and data requirements
Networking is the main item that is the most useful. Network allows the computers in the
working environment to communicate together and communicate with the servers in orders to
Document Page
retrieve and feed information into the system. The system requirements have been classified into
different categories including the following;
Hardware requirements
eTTek is an online management system that requires the internet in order to be accessed. Despite
the fact that it is an online management information system, it requires computer hardware
components for its existence. The hardware components which may be needed for this project
includes; Desktop computers, network switches and routers, servers, and the power supplies.
These will help to host and provide access points to the developed application system. The
hardware devices are better known as the IoT devices since they are used to connect the
application and the internet.
Software requirements
Also, there is need for this application to be integrated with other applications such as social
media sites so that they can be able to achieve the concept the marketing plans. To be more and
more secured the system has to be integrated with malware prevention software such as the
antivirus software so that they can prevent the intruders from entering into the system. Intruders
are the experts who uses some specific but unknown techniques to enter into the company
network system without being notice by the owners. These people are dangerous and can go
away with all the company data.
Other software programs that are need in this regard include the following applications; Web
browsers such as Mozilla Firefox, Chrome, internet explorer and Safaris. These kinds of software
program are used to access the site that was developed as the business intelligence system
through the use of the domain that was provided during the hosting period.
MS office is another software requirements during the implementation of this project. This is
because some of the files produced by the system will require word processors or the
spreadsheets to be able to be read by the system users
Data requirements
Data is the most sensitive thing in every project. Data in the developed program is stored in the
centralized database management system. The application is a cloud based system and offers
cloud storage from dedicated servers laid in a very secure environment with a manual data center
sited within the building. The data must follow the privacy policies and standards which have
been designed by the IT personnel within the company. The data are kept secured and any
confidential information regarding the person cannot be disclose to anyone it is purposely for
company use. (Kashevnik, Lashkov, Parfenov, Mustafin, Baraniuc, 2017)
The data available within the database consists of employee’s data, customer’s data and the
inventories data. All these data needs to be kept secure from fraudsters. All the data must be
centralized and the individuals who can access these data can be assigned roles and
responsibilities to make the access rights orderly and no one can hijacked ones access privileges.
System security policies and standards
Document Page
The proposed solution must be much secured and can handle what is required to be done by the
company. Security standards and policies are framed and discuss to make sure that any person
found infringing the speculated laws and rights must face the needful actions and trials.
The security standards must be following those of ISO 200001 to 200009 as well as the ICAO
computer security policies and standards. In this regard the system will be grated and tested such
that there will be no bugs while deploying the system. A good system must be able to have the
minimal bugs present in it to avoid being attacked every now and again by hackers.
Reports and Data analytics
The system will generate reports using OLAP technologies. OLAP database systems consist of
all the capabilities to presents the data available in the DBMS in the form of graphical analysis.
Queries can be send to the database management system so that graphical analysis can be
generated as the reports. Reading this form of reports is easy to understand and interpret as the
trends is either seen to be falling or rising up.
OLAP presentation helps the managers to make complete decisions but observing at the trends
which has been displayed by the graphs. Also, data about payments are recorded including the
new customers can filtered and the company manager can be able to understand the trends in
which the new customers are registering within the company.
OLAP system is a database technology that uses the principle of artificial intelligence to study
the data present in the database management system and present them in the form of graphical
analysis for the system users to find it easy for them to study the trends that the company is
undergoing.

Secure payment systems
The online application that was built by the company has been integrated with various kinds of
secure online payments systems which include the master card, pay papal and mobile payment
methods. These methods of payment will allow the customers and the company to receive and
make payments as well. All the transactions being undertaken within the system are recorded
such that the reports can be generated and printed to avoid the loss of data and easy way of
tracking the losses within the organization.
The payments can be made online and the receipts is send to the customer to be printed. The
company can also generate invoices to send them to the clients for payment processing so that
the booking can be completed. The payment methods are integrated together with the system so
that the users can just make the payments as they book.
Recommendations and conclusions
Recommendations
Business intelligence system developed by the T&T Inc is highly recommended as it serves as a
general purpose software for monitoring and evaluation of all the processes being undertaken by
the organization. The processes include bookings by the customers, organizing and updating the
system databases by the admin, updating the system data by the admin, employee management
and updating all the company inventories. (Korpela, Soriyan, Olufokunbi, & Mursu, 2017).
Also, the system will offers the company to transact their services faster than when the manual
system is being used to carry out the day to day activities. The system provides a secure
inventory tracking system that helps the organization in the monitoring and tracking of all the
inventories belonging to the T&T Inc.
Conclusion
In conclusion this project entails the development process of a quality business intelligence
system that will help T&T Inc to manage its information in a very easy way. This project came
into being when the company experience a huge number of customers registering into the
company day by day. The company had experienced difficulty in this while trying to reach each
one of them one at a time. T&T Inc decided to come up with the new management information
system called eTTek. eTTek has built up a strong customer relationship management platform
where the customers can raised their issues for improvement and can be able to rate the services
offered by the company. The webFocus System was replaced by eTTek
