Communication is a way one can express the information to others. When it comes to business
communication, it is a medium of sharing information with one another in the company through,
verbal, non-verbal or written communication. According to the literature given in the article,
business communication be further segregated in three different heads as organizational,
leadership and interpersonal communication skills. As per the business communication skills
mentioned, one needs to master these skills for becoming a successful professional whether it is
aiming on effective leadership, internally with the staff by transmitting enthusiasm or sense of
urgency or through examining the two entities externally. Even though, it has become the part of
daily life, e-mails and report writing with negotiation skills and body language constitutes to be
necessary in the professional environment.
The model for communication process builds effective communication that further makes the
other party receive the messages. The process starts from sender, information is sent, message is
transmitted through a medium; the receiver receives it, decodes it and further gives feedback.
Based on the process, interpersonal, psychological, bias and prejudices play a major role in
filtering the message. The filtering is possible in upward and downward forms of communication
as well. However, one area that business communication has flourished is digital
communication. Every business activity, whether reaching out to B2B or B2Cis utilizing
electronic communication technology. Using internet and social media, the business firms are
effective to achieve suppliers, customers, sales, marketing and technical in much cheaper and
faster rate. The businesses have achieved life changing benefits through internet by online
marketing, establishing visibility for competitions against other firms as well as making
paperless transactions 24 hours a day.
Nevertheless, there have been barriers to communication because traditional methods like face to
face presentations, meetings, conferences are not performed; as a result, there is lack of trust
between management and outside stockholders. This leads to more complexity and conflicting
messages. Secondly, the marketing of a brand is limited to social media advertisements and with
different articles online, certain confusion is created in the minds of customers if proper
communication is not made. Also, with growing technology it takes time to get updated and with

not effective website it further does not gives a positive message to the stockholders. The internet
communication has replaced direct communication and new dotcom era has further built
interactivity and customization in following the modern business approach.
