INTRODUCTION
Business information technology is a type of modern method that can be designed to
manage and control the overall functionality. It helps for using the modelling technique for
resolving the enterprises problem and also making the managerial decisions.
TESCO is a leading general merchandise and groceries retailer in UK that can measure by
the revenue of enterprises. It was founded in 1919 by Jack Cohen as the group of market stalls.
This organization has expanded their business in globally since early 1990.
This report will discuss about the use of IT system in different functions of organization and
also contribute to achieve the business objectives. Furthermore, it will identify the different types
of IT system that can process for knowledge management and many more. Moreover, it will
describe that how IT system always support in terms of value added changes form improving the
enterprises operations, sustainability and performance. At last, it will cover the wide range of
business problems according to the experience at workplace.

leading firm to maintain their mainframe system and database because it can hold the entire data

supporting the business operations and functions which emphasizes the MIS, DSS, TPS, EIS etc.
There are different types of business functions performed within organization.
Marketing and sales
It is important part of business functions for promoting their product and services in
marketplace. TESCO mainly uses different type of information system such as website or
applications that support to provide the relevant details regarding items. It can be used the
management information system(MIS) that support decision making to satisfy the requirement of
consumers.

proper manner. It will be organized the different activity in production functions that can

structure. There are common problem occurs at workplace but it can be resolved them by using
IT solutions.
 Individual employee issues- This type of issue can be increases the personality conflicts,
business structure and supervisor issue. Management must learn the cause of problem
between employees. In this way, it has been required for manager to use the information
technology system and monitor the activities of worker by using strategy planning. It also
identifies the main causes of problem development. For Example- when employees are
living in the decentralised firm so that they feel and give answer to the multiple
supervisor but the communication between employees are properly (Steininger, 2019). IT
system give solution to maintain the relationship between them by sharing opinion or
view point by using email, messages and other system.

 Issues in decision making- it is most common issue at workplace where manager has
been limited lack of decision due to poor understanding. It has required for business
development to implement in IT solution which help for maintaining productivity and
profitability in global world (Tayebi and et.al., 2019). It has been recommended to use
the Decision support system (DSS) that can useful for senior manager to make non-
routine decision. It always supports the overall internal and external system in proper
manner. The primary objective of decision support system to provide the efficient
solution and change frequently. This type of system uses the sophisticated model and
technique to predicate solutions. In TESCO, Manager is responsible for making the semi
structure decision but MIS provide the data which needed to make the accurate structured
decision based on the experience of people. In this way, it also makes decision to predict
the inventory products in proper manner.
