LEADERSHIP IN BUSINESS
Description
The food and beverage company ABC Limited, located in Ontario manufactures and
produces soft and health drinks and fast foods or snacks (Palmer 2015). The employees deal
with manufacturing soft drinks including the outer packaging of the drinks and examination
for the taste, quality, expiry dates and marketing the products. The employees work hard to
achieve the desired result and profit. However, in the past few months, many employees
started to quit their jobs from the organization leading to the loss of the company and facing
huge competition from other competitors. This was a major concern in the workplace, which
made the management to critically analyze the issue and investigated the reason for leaving
the company. A detailed feedback report was asked from the current and even existing
working employees about their review on the working environment of the organization. Their
feedback was that there was no initiative taken from the management for the social well
being of the employees. There were no extra benefits or compensation for working extra
hours or any particular shift timings for employees with family. There were short breaks
provided to the employees and no flexible work hours. The overall working culture was not
suitable to work and there was no job satisfaction and motivation leading to quit of the jobs.
It was obvious from the review that employees tend to stay in a workplace communication is
clear and decisions are respected and approachable. Their effort should be understood,
appreciated, and paid rewards for that. This was a life changing experience for me as the
management came up with relevant strategies or employee retention and implementation to
support its employees by constantly keeping in touch to make any further changes.
Feeling
The only feeling during this experience was to how to get back the potential employees who
have provided their best to the company and the future of the existing employees. I was
completely lost and the toughest challenge for me to get back the business on track. I sat with

not let other competitors to hold on our market share. It negatively affected the other
employees and the company as a whole and its overall profit. Their absence is also felt, as
they were an essential part of the organizational chain. The thought that came to my mind is
that tragedy has only been a lack of sense and responsibility, which never stroke out mind

direction or path of success. I realized the importance of ethics of leadership in personal as
well as professional lives that include both moral virtues and ethics. This will clearly
motivate employees to work for the organizational goals and objectives that will gain their
trust for a long-term relationship.
Evaluation
During this critical phase, there were many challenges that had to be faced by the company as
well the employees. As the employees left the organization, it led to the downfall of
production of products and services that in further led to the decrease in sales and overall
revenue of the organization. As a result, the employees were not paid their incentives, which
were kept by the managers. The wages they received was too low which led to dissatisfaction
and demonization in morale of the employees. This has negatively influenced the
organization and the other employees that the company will shut down and they will remain
unemployed. After the employees left, hiring of new employees has a negative effect as the
organization had a poor brand image in the market. This gave an opportunity to other
competitors to grab the market share and lead in that particular region. The existing
employees were left with total disappointment and insecurity towards their job with limited
trust or faith towards the management. Therefore, no matter what was said or done, the

negative result could have been avoided earlier by appropriate planning and controlling.
Initially, a session should have been conduced to ask the employees about the likings and
disliking of them in the company and what changes should have been made to make the
working environment better. If this step would have been taken earlier, then the situation
could have been avoided and the company would have been doing better now. As a result, it
led to negative consequences affecting other employees also. A great leader and his path of
principles is followed by everyone and serves as a role model to others. An ethical leader is a
good example to other managers on how to lead workers towards the path of success.
Integrity and honesty are the essential elements in accomplishment of goals in the world of
business. However, leadership cannot work effectively without a little emotional appeal.
Emotional ways that can be directed are manipulative and genuine. It has a respect towards
the interest and commitment of people in the organization. Therefore, the nebefits and
advantages of the employees should have been taken into consideration first so that they stay
in the organization. It is also vital o gain their faith towards working in the organization so
that they do not leave even during the crisis period. Employees tend to automatically create
an emotional value and a sense of trustworthiness towards the company if they have worked
for a longer period. Therefore, these potential employees will serve the company even if
others leave.
Conclusion
I did not think about the consequences that could occur or any strategic plan to hold back
employees. There was no idea of what was going on in the minds of the employees and that
they were about to leave the company. Therefore, it prevented me to stop thinking further as
the company was doing well in its area. The aim was to achieve the goals of te organization
